padron 64 anni (natural) principe Review

Well I will start out by saying that this may have been my most enjoyable smoking experience to date because i got my dad to smoke a davidoff entreacto
(atleast for a while)

It was the funniest thing watching him puff on a cigar rather than a cig. He was walking around the house with it too, and mom was yelling at him, and I also as my padron anni was lit as well. She kept tellin us it stunk so bad. Got a good laugh, and then best of all dad tried inhaling the thing and had to put it down because he got coughing. Hahaha. Good thing to jot down in the memory book.

Anyhow, to start my review.
I will say i grabbed the natural wrapper because i really havent been digging maduro wrappers so much as of late.
You all know how well these are constructed so i wont say anything about that or it's appearance.
Mmm. This cigar was slightly complex, but not as complex as i expected. I didn't mind too much.
Throughout the whole cigar it had that classic padron "leathery/earthy" taste which i've come to call it. Also for the majority of the cigar it had a very nice coffee bean flavor. Finally, to keep me in my toes it would alternate in between a cinnamon spice tone, and a vanilla-beany tone which i dont get too often in cigars, which made my tongue very happy too i may add.
For a small cigar, this thing put out the smoke.

Maybe the best NC i've had to date? I can't really say.
Definitely my favorite smoking experience thus far though.

Re: padron 64 anni (natural) principe

Aaahhh, another BOTL that likes the Principe! I have a couple boxes of these going (one natty, one maddy) as it is my regular smoke due to it's great flavor and the fact that it smokes in about 1/2 the time as many larger sticks... I find I can make time for a Principe size more often than not... today I had one on the way to the seafood market and tonite while grilling I worked on a La Gloria Cubana.

Thanks for the review tecnorobo.

Re: padron 64 anni (natural) principe

This is the only stick that I have had from the anni line. I enjoyed it immensely as well (thanks for the gift CigDaddy). It might not be my favorite of all time, but it did give the best burn of any stick that I have ever tried (see "how often do you get the perfect burn" thread). I have a mad imperial and principe resting in my humi for nicer weather.

You just can't go wrong with Padrons...

I have yet to try one but I've got a couple resting comfortably in my humi. One of these days I'll have to fire one up!

Thanks for the review tecnorobo.
I like the smaller smokes for the same reason, I can fit them in more often than not.....

Nice review tecno, the new Padron 1926 Serie No. 35 fits this bill as well. My B&M has had them regularly since they came out and I have picked up some along the way.

jaxf250, I live in Jacksonville as well.

How do you rate the Principe vs. the Exclusivo? I haven't had a Principe yet. I've been trying to find a box at my local shops. I've seen a few singles, but at that point I was in a box buying craze and passed them up. The Exclusivo is my favorite smoke so far.

That 1926 35 rocks.
One of my new favorites.

Re: padron 64 anni (natural) principe

I have one laying in my humi just waiting to be smoked. The local cigar store has a box waiting for me ... apparently they aren´t very sought after over here but after reading the reviews... I simply have to try out one of these beauts.

Re: padron 64 anni (natural) principe

I'm smoking a Principe right now, although it's a maddie. F'n thing is built like a brick! More solid than the Exclusivo. I figured the Principe for a quick smoke. But as compact as this little thing is, you'll want to count on at least an hour.

The burn on the Principe, thus far, is flawless. This is my first Principe by the way. I've smoked plenty of Exclusivos. First thing that hit me was the taste of coffee or cocoa. This is the first time I've experienced this flavor in any cigar. I bought a two single Principes a week or so ago. Torched the first of the two tonight. I also picked up a box at my B&M just the other day. I'm glad I did. This is one nice little cigar.

Sounds like a great smoking experience. Now, try to snag yourself a box of those pups. Gotta love your dad trying to inhale a stogie.

Re: padron 64 anni (natural) principe

Great review tecno!

I love Padrons and the Principe is a good stick. Helluva lot cheaper than the 1926 #35 too.

Type-O,
The Exclusivo (maybe it was the Monarca, can't remember it was so long ago) was the first of the Annis I ever smoked. It holds a special place in my heart. I find the extra length and girth aids in flavor development.
