Perdomo Reserve Champagne 'E' Review

Ok, go easy on me, this is my first review. It may not be up to snuff to you more seasoned cigar veterans, but I'll give it a stab anyway.

Tonight, sitting in the peace of my front porch, I enjoyed a Perdomo Reserve Champagne. I recently got it at a Perdomo tasting at a local cigar shop, while browsing around for the first time. A kind Perdomo representative handed it to me, and I figured I'd do her a favor and burn it for her. You know, destroy the evidence.

Starting out, it had a full, nutty flavor, somewhere inbetween almost a light spice from a pumpkin pie and a nutty flavor, melded with a slight earthiness that I almost immediately fell in love with. It got a bit sweeter about 1 1/2 to 2 inches into the cigar, and swirled in sweetness and nuttiness levels through out. It finally finished with a good, solid, melting pot whammy that left me quite happy at 1 in the morning.

I won't give this cigar a number scale, as I really haven't had too many other cigars to compare it to on a 1-100 basis, but I'll simply say this: this is a stick that I would pick up by the box, and soon.

Thanks for the review, Scott. Although I've tried most of the cigars in the Perdomo line, I have yet to experience this one. Maybe one of these days I'll pick one up.

Re: Perdomo Reserve Champagne 'E'

This is one of my favorite cigars. A friend gave me one, and I have been a fan ever since. The quality/construction has been top-notch and consistent in my experience. My only complaint is the last few I bought were green, and nearly unsmokeable. I just purchased a box of the E's with the intention of putting them away for at least 6 months, and hopefully a year.

For those that haven't smoked this flavorful but mild(er) cigar, I would recommend that you smoke it after a meal. In my experience it packs a decent nicotine punch. I made the mistake of thinking this would be a good cigar for introducing new people to the art. Huge mistake! I gave one to a non-cigar smoking friend. While he truly enjoyed the taste, he ended up tossing his cookies over a guard rail before the evening was over.

Good review. I usually like stronger smokes but this milder strength cigar is packed with flavor. I like the "R" variety 5 X 54 wich I find to be veeeery creamy, smooth, and sweet (but not siclly or fake). honey creamy godness with a hint of cinamon spice.

A good anythime smoke

All the Champagnes I've had have tasted like wood the whole way through. Not impressed aside from the appearance and construction.
