La Luna African Fuerte Camaluna Review

This is the 2nd vitola of the La Luna African Fuerte line that I've tried. The construction was very good. The wrapper was smooth, without blemished but did seem thinner than usual and tore near the cap prior to cutting (this happened on both that I've had so far). Since I received these from a friend, it could be due to poor storage. It had a slightly soft but solid feel with no soft spots. The cap cut easily but was slightly damaged due to the tearing of the wrapper. The pre-light draw was a right on. Like the LLAF Tusk, it took to the lighter like a champ and immediately began to produce very nice volumes of smoke. Initally it had a chocolately taste and a medium-strong body to it. About 1/3 of the way through a strong leathery taste kicked in like the flick of a switch. The burn was excellent throughout buring evenly for the entire length of the smoke. The ash was a light grey and was very firm. Like the Tusk, I was pleasantly surprised as I tend to gravitate to the Maduros. Between the two, I think I prefer the Tusk but I want to try all the vitolas in the line before making a decision.

Personally, I don't like torps, no matter who makes them. I do however, really like the LaLuna AF Luna Park and Bantus!
