La Luna African Fuerte Tusk Review

LLAF Tusk - Till now all I've smoked from La Luna are the LLMF's ( I love these) and LHB lines. Last week I ordered the special sampler pack from Avila, which included the Tusk. The construction was very good. The wrapper was smooth, without blemished and had something around a milk chocolate color to it. It had a nice firm but not rock hard feel and there were no soft spots. The cap cut easily and the pre-light draw was a little loose but not bad. It took to the lighter like a champ and immediately began to produce very nice volumes of smoke. Initally it had a chocolately taste and a medium to medium-strong body to it. About half-way through I started to pick up a more leathery taste. The burn was excellent throughout the smoke even while taking a brisk walk. The ash was a slightly darker grey and was very firm. I even got the ash to hang on to over 2" while on my walk. All said, I was pleasantly surprised as I tend to gravitate to the Maduros. I will definately have to try out the rest of the line, find a favorite, and add it to the "rotation".
