Puros Indios #4 Especiales Review

Bought a box and was pleasantly surprised. Having no problems with construction and draw, I'll leave it at that. The taste is worth a discussion here, however. With the first draw, I tasted spices and cedar....reminiscent of some medium to full-bodied Habanos I've had...probably more to the medium-bodied side. Mix in there some leather and volumes of smoke...made me a happy camper. As the cigar smoked down...hints of Brazilian (pepper), hints of Nicaragua (cocoa), and shades of Dominican (cedar and leather) added some complexity to the menu. I enjoyed the intermittent peppery bites to my palate which disappeared as the cigar came to the last inch....just smooth leather and wood...no harshness or bitterness noted. It made my mouth sweat and my mind just a little "lighter." Surprisingly, just got these in the mail and it's already "on."
Pardon my ramblings.

I gotta agree, PI #4 Especiales are VERY good. Personally, I like the Rothschild even better, although I think the #4 is usually rated higher. Don Reyes has created a great cigar at a great price!

just smoking the third one(claro) from 2 boxes put away oct last year.these are consistant as i find olateone to be right on in the review above.this one has the tightest draw of the 3 (i like firmer draws so am happy).also noting a (not unpleasant)metalic kind of taste.
a first class smoke

This is a cigar I'm willing to put up with a tight draw for. I love 'em!

Always a place in my humis for this cigar. Other than the occasional tight (very tight) draw they are definitely worth the $2.00 a stick price tag.:7

Enjoy, and let us know what you think about them. PI's are a love or hate cigar. I happen to love them, and ALWAYS have some in my humi! If you don't like yours, I will be happy to buy them back. But I don't think that will happen

RE: Puros Indios #4 Especiales.

Got mine on Friday, they were a bit dry, and i kinda ran into the typical const. problem that they have been known to have. I tried one even though they were dry :-) and i must say, i LOVED it, and i must only imagine that they will get better. !!!
