Taboo Twist Torpedo Review

Just a few words on my first Twist. Actually, this is the first barber pole style cigar I have had. Started with very little spice(black pepper) but quickly smoothed out into a creamy delight!! Great, mild tabacco flavors. Humi time was only about 1 1/2-2wks. Burn was great, no touch ups, first ash held for a little over 2 inches or so, construction was flawless. Have one more left, can't wait to see what more nap time does for it.
I have 2 SFBC and OB maddies to try but, me thinks I'm gonna give them a little extra time.
Rob, I think you have a loyal customer....
Thanks for reading.

Re: Taboo Twist Torpedo

I had one of these last night and it was excellent. The best part about it, is that it was exactly the smoke I wanted yesterday. Paired it with a cheap bottle of Pinot Noir and it went great. A nice cool creamy smoke that only started to get a bit harsh towards the end with about 1.5" left. I blew well past that point after a purge and took this thing down to the painful "burning lips" level. It was that good. Two big thumbs up for Taboo!

Re: Taboo Twist Torpedo

I was gifted one of these last week and took it to Bike Night tonight as I had a good couple hours to enjoy it outside.

I was impressed by the construction and burn, but found this cigar a little mild for my tastes, as I normally smoke fuller cigars.

It wasn't bad by any stretch, but wasn't one I would buy.

The only other barber pole I have tried was an AF BTL, so maybe I was expecting similar.

I know these have a large fan base here and I would definitely try another blend.

You could also try a different size. But, if you mainly smoke full cigars, I don't know if you would change your mind. This cigar is medium at best. The new 6x50 Twist is probably the best we have ever had. Very creamy but still a medium smoke. I like them better than Fuente btl.

You may want to try our SFO. This shipment is very full. I recommend resting them until around 10/8/08. That's about 30 days since rolled. The tobacco is aged 2-3years.

You are also welcome to call me and tell me the type of cigars you smoke. I could then tell you which Taboo to try and which ones you probably should stay away from. Happy to help. I think we have a Taboo for 90% of everyone out there.

Thanks for your feedback
Rob

Re: Taboo Twist Torpedo

I agree that these are pretty mild compared to what I typically smoke, but they are one of the very few mild-medium smokes that I enjoy tremendously. As I've said in the past, bitterness and harshness are what really kills a cigar for me and these are creamy and completely void of harshness. I've actually found myself looking for these more and more often when I want a great, smooth smoke

Taboo really makes a great line with the HSG for med-full and special forces for the full strength needs.

Again, great job Rob!

Re: Taboo Twist Torpedo

I give Rob and the Taboo crew props every time I can. I love the line but I love the Torpedo Twist! I love all types of cigars ,but the first Special Forces I tried I didnt like. I had a few more to try so I waited and it must have been past the 30 day period because the next one was great and full.

I am in the cc's at this time but I will always have a taboo line in the humi waiting to go down in a fiery death.

Great review,

Molar
