Medalist by Alec Bradley - Churchill Review
The Alec Bradley line of cigars is one that I am slowly warming up to. I was given an Occidental Reserve some months back and was somewhat impressed with the performance for the price. However, not impressed enough to order any. The same with a Havana Sungrown that I was given. However, it was Greg’s (IHT) prompting to try the Trilogy line that caused me to pick up a sampler put out by Alec Bradley. This sampler contained five Churchill sized cigars for under $20.00, one of them being the new Medalist. This is my review of the Medalist Churchill.
This cigar is a 7 X 50 Double Corona from Honduras that uses a Honduran / Nicaraguan filler mix wrapped with a Connecticut binder and Costa Rican wrapper. Construction is excellent and this is certainly a fine looking cigar. I found the cigar a bit hard to light, but once going, this baby smoked like an Alco Big Boy going up Sherman Hill (if you don’t know, I ain’t telling). Flavor was full and to my liking. Burn and ash were so-so, which is not uncommon with this size of cigar. This cigar was rather fresh, and there was some degree of nose harshness in the smoke. I believe that this will age out of the cigar. In all, I found this cigar to be quite acceptable and rated it a 3.64/4.00 (A-).

Re: Medalist by Alec Bradley - Churchill
Thanks for the review. I am working through a box of the cuban belli's and find that I'm really enjoying them. I do indeed think that this cigar will age nicely.

Re: Medalist by Alec Bradley - Churchill
Nice review! I saw those in the newest famous smokes catalog and I am intrigued... I may have to order a 5er.
