Ordered two more boxes yesterday. Gave one these sticks to a friend (who mostly smokes isoms) and he loved it. Gave me $45 on the spot to order him a box.

Anybody care to send me a few sticks and I'll return something you haven't tried, maybe even some REAL good stuff! E-mail if you're interested.

RE: Bolivar Fuerte Palmita

Well, my box came today and I smoked one on the way home. Unlit it had a very strong earthy aroma, a bit intimidationg actually. I feared it might be too strong for my mood. The wrapper was just a bit rough looking, but still a good looking cigar. The draw was perfect. First impression upon lighting was cedar, strong cedar. The cedar blossomed into powerful earthy tastes with chocolate undertones. The finish was a bit short, but pleasant. The flavor was consistent right to the end without much amplification. It did not build. This cigar was certainly very full bodied, but not overwhelming. All in all a truly great cigar. Thanks kjpman for the tip. This is what I love about this board.

I am what I am.

Wonderful to hear! Im kinda intimidated when I post reviews on this board because compared to some on here Im a complete novice, but when they start to come back good, Its music to my ears!!

by the way, the Palmita that I reviewed had about 7 months age on it, Ive never had one right out of the box. Im really interested to hear what you guys think of these babies with some age on them :-)

kjpman...and others...

I was in North Carolina this weekend and stopped by JR Cigars to see what else they had in the new Bolivar Fuerte line. Picked up singles of four other sizes.

Smoked the Belicoso Fino (6.25 x 50), the Double Corona (6.88 x 4 and the Delmonico (6.12 x 50). Each was very, very good with the Delmonico being my favorite. All had lots of smoke, medium to dark brown (and tasty) wrappers, very earthy and a good, but not overpowering kick. None of them ever burned too hot. The DC had a slightly uneven burn but nothing I couldn't correct. All went well with beers and ales. I still have a 654 (6.00 x 54) that I'm going to light up this week with a single malt and see what that does to the taste so I can compare the ones with beer/ale.

I'm going to order a couple boxes of these bigger boys.

This theme is gaining some momentum. I got a few Palmitas sent by a fellow LLG and can't wait to smoke them.

RE: Bolivar Fuerte Palmita

I've been holding off on buying Bolivar Fuerte untill I've heard more reviews, and judging by this post, I should pick up a box.
