Bolivar Fuerte Palmita Review

Ive been eyeing this little wonder in my humidor for quite some time now, and today I broke down and had it. WOW
I figured that the day was nice enough, and cool enough outside for a mid-day cigar as it is not my usual thing. When i picked it up, the wrapper was chocolate brown and had a sheen to it, there were a few viens but nothing to note. I cut the cap and took a draw, it was a little tight as was my fear with a 38 ring guage. Just then a couple guys came in that werent to keen on smoking so i sat there and just enjoyed the taste of it for a few minutes. The prelight draw remided me a little of a Partagas No.4, i dont really know why. Anyway, i kicked them out and preceeded to light this little gem. Right away, when i was toasting the foot, i noticed that this was going to be a powerful cigar and after the first draw i realized i was right. About the first inch or soo was very earthy, something i dont get much in non isoms, and i really enjoy. In the next couple inches, the cigar calmed and had flavors of chocolate and straight tobacco, really really nice. There was very little aftertaste up to now, and what there was, was kinda pleasant. In the last two inches, the power really came on. The smoke was very abundant and thick. The flavor turned to a spicy dream and still very little aftertaste even though it was getting a bit hot. I nubbed this one, and plan on getting a box! I dont think that anyone here that is a fan of stonger cigars would be let down with this little Bolivar.
Construction...8, a few viens
draw...81/2 a little tight to start but then loosend to perfect
taste...9+ my new favorite smoke :-)
overall...9 my head is still spinning a bit from it!!!

Thanks for the convincing review. You just cost me some money. Now I've gotta go out a get a couple, if I can find 'em. Local tobacconist doesn't carry them but I'll search a few shops in the metro area this weekend.

There are alot of people who swear this is second coming. Everybody seems to be trying a second, stronger blend and from what I've heard this one got it right.

Would you believe I haven't found a tobacconist in the 4.2 million population Atlanta area that carries these? So....on YOUR recommendation alone....I've ordered a box from JR. How's that for faith in a fellow gorilla?

Got my order and smoked one right away. It was great. Looking forward to another after work with an ice cold brew. Congratulations on finding a great stick and letting us know about it. I'm looking forward to burning a few of the other sizes in this new line.

JR sent along some bonus cigars with my Palmitas order. One was the Bolivar Fuerte Cuban Corona. Smoked it last night. Good stick, much better in second half than in first. Lots of smoke and flavor.

Great!! The summer is a slow month for broke college students like myself....but ive saved enough to be placing an order for some more withing days :-) Life is good!!

Heres an idea, maybe when i get my new box, i could send some out to the regular Habanos posters, you all know who they are. And they could give us a review of how this wonderful cigar stacks up to some of there favorites. I have had very very limited Cuban cigar experience and thought this would be great if i can pull it off.....
