Clints (my review, and add yours as well!)

Well, I finally got my 3-cigar sampler from Clints Cigars.

They make only one cigar, so that is why there is no model in the topic, heh.

It is exactly as the name implies...a Clint Eastwood style conically wound cigar of approx 3-5/8" long. I'm very accustomed to this style of Cigar, but others may not be...it's a very informal type of cigar, more suited for having a quick smoke in the club parking lot or whatnot.

The gague is impossible to figure, since this cigar goes from straw thin on the head, to panatela sized at the foot. No cutting necessary for this style cigar. The tiny head is the right size to keep the cigar in one's mouth like a Cigarette (or to just gnaw on like Eastwood did in his movies).

I also didn't humidify the one I'm trying (but have the other two), as this style of cigar should be tried "dry" and then humid.

When getting ready to light it, I picked up a flavor (well there is an aroma, but my nose sucks)....and that is a very sweet, spicy flavor...almost like Captain Morgan....yep, this is a dipped/flavored cigar.

Draw is moderately easy for such a small opening, burn is pretty good, leaving a white ash with hints of grey underneath it.

The character of this Cigar's flavor is what I'd call a mild smoke....very easy to nose-exhale, and very easy overall. Whatever it was dipped in dominates it's flavor. It may be the scent and flavor fooling me, but I get an almost clove-like flavor out about halfway through.

At the last third of the Cigar, the flavor become a little peppery and exhibited a bit more robust flavor. The smoke has been extremely aromatic through the entire smoke (this may be one smoke that people don't mind smelling in the house/apartment).

Overall, this is what I'd consider a pretty good low-dollar quickie for the flavored cigar crowd. It can be devoured in half an hour easily, and provides a modest, but enjoyable flavor. It's no match for my fallback (the Punch London Club Maduro), but it is a very nice first attempt by a starting cigar company.

Cheers!

Just wondering, are they anything like a backwoods?

I have not had a backwoods, but let's put it this way....it's ages ahead of a black & mild. The flavoring is really sweet though, almost swisher levels of sweet.

For what it's worth, I've taken a liking to them....I pulled the trigger on a bundle and a hard case.

And for what it's worth...I had a Backwoods. The Clints are nothing like that....the Backwoods were nasty as all hell (draw was good, but it tasted like I was smoking a pine twig).

The Clints have none of that cigar's character...which is purely a good thing.
