Deisel Fuerte Robusto by Rocky Patel Review

Rocky Patel, get the F*#@ out of my head!!! It seem like every time I try one of your cigars, I like it better than the last. I had liked the Indian Tabac Cigars I had tried in recent months. A few weeks ago I had my first Edge and was blown away by it. And mow it is the Deisel Fuerte Series. I think there is some satllite that is orbiting the earth, reading my thoughts and desires in regards to cigars. I am on to you you Bastard. I am going to like the biggest cowboy hat I can find with heavy duty tinfoil and you just try to make quality cigars without being able to read my mind!!!

I like a good full bodied cigar, with a little sweetness and a finish that is not too harsh, but still packs a punch. Well, tonight I had what is close to the perfect cigar for me.

The Deisel Fuerte is a standard Robusto size 5" 50. THe wrapper is a rich oily dark brown maduro with a slight sweetness when you put it in the mouth. Upon lighting it, you are given hints of spice and cocoa, THese pick up a little strength as you smoke it down. It is like a fuller less sweet version of the Onyx Reserve. THe finish was smooth and easy even though I almost burnt my lips getting every last bit out of this cigar. THis will one improve with age, but I will have a hard time not smoking all of these bad boys!!!

As for construction, the draw was good, but slightly on the tight side. The rapper was thick and rustic looking. There were no soft spots whatsoever. THe burn got slightly uneven but quickly leveled off. There was a thick and aromatic smoke that lingered in the air on this mild January night The dark ash held firm. So it had a couple of minor flaws that seemed to work themselves out.

I see a lot more of these in my future. THis cigar is not everyone's cup of tea, but it is mine!!! But Rocky Patel, you better stop these mind games. I am tempted to flush the 15 vintage 1990 & 1992 cigars I also bought before down the toilet before I even try them, just to deny you the pleasure of another posative review

I had a Diesel Fuerte Toro this afternoon. I agree with your comment on the draw being a little tight, although I was thinking overhumidification on my part was partly to blame for this (I left my refill sponge in too long and got RH up to 73%). I will be interested in smoking another of these soon.

I picked the box off of cbid for $22 and shipping. I simply can't complain about minor draw issues or needing to touch up a cigar twice when they pack such great flavor for just over a buck a stick. Now if they would just stop painting the boxes that awful orange!

Good enthusiastic review! You might want to take a Ritalin before smoking the Vintage 1990 or at least have some tissues nearby..

Good review! I picked these up a while back off of cbid for a great price and I too like Deisel. I smoked one when I first received them and it was ok, but after letting them sit a bit they improved. Pretty good cigar at a cheap price.

Picked up a 10-count on Cbid, if for nothing else, just to stretch out the medium-heavy side of my stash.

Had one last night, and it spiced things up for me a bit! I would concur with your comments above: Draw is on the tight side, they need to hang out in the humi for awhile, and the orange band is about as subtle as a whore at Sunday morning service. Nonetheless, how can you argue at that price!?

It should be interesting to see whether this one catches on over time!
