Ashton VSG Socerer Review
LAST EDITED ON Mar-12-01 AT 11:30 PM (CST)[p]I got this cigar in my Box pass from BJ i believe and smoked it today while watching some TV with friends.
Appearence and Construction: A beautiful cigar. The wrapper was dark as night with a nice sheen of oil all over it. The wrapper was very smooth with only small veins on it. The construction of the cigar was superb with the cigar having a almost spoungy feel to it. (in cA's interview with Castro he described this as a desirable trait) 8.5 Aroma, Flavor, and Aftertaste: The prelight aroma was delicious and only got better after I lit it. The flavor started off kind of mild to medium with cedar/woody notes and a slightly sweet flavor. The farther I smoked into the cigar the stronger or more full bodied it became. By the halfway point it was a full bodied spicey dream. 9 Burn and Ash: A perfect even burn with a medium gray ash that was fairly firm. 8 Overal Experience: What a great cigar. I wouldn't mind buying a box of these some day. For a full bodied smoke, you can always rely on a VSG. Overall score: a solid 9 big_bish

I've got to admire a guy who smokes a VSG while watching T.V.

Well I'm so happy you liked it! I always love it when someone enjoys a very good cigar that I sent them. Later days!

Thanks for the review. I got one of these babies from my secret santa. It has been napping. I am waiting for the weather to break and to get a good opportunity to enjoy this one. Always gets rave reviews.
BTW, got some buyers for my house last night. Woohoo!!! They just have to give me the ernest money tonight and their pre-approval letter. It's been on the market 1 week. |

RE: Ashton VSG Socerer
If you can get ahold of them, try the VSG belicosos, They are, perhaps, even better than the sorceror (Iknow, subjective). I think they are hard to get a hold of in most places. But Barclay Rex in NYC has them on a failry consistent basis (about 10$ a stick).

RE: Ashton VSG Socerer
I smoked one of those in October of last year. I would have to say that it is the best of the VSG line. Nice and powerful in a great size. Another truely beautiful cigar by the Fuente's.

big_bish,
Thanks for the review. I can see you're not wasting any time getting into your "birthday box"! I envy you guys that get such a buzz from the VSG's. I've got weird body chemistry or something... the power just doesn't come through for me. I can appreciate the taste, but not much buzz factor. I guess I'll just have to stick with the CAO eXtremes and isom Bolivar pc's. LOL ... rjs |

RE: Ashton VSG Socerer
I bought two VSG's, one I smoked and IT WAS AMAIZING, my new favorite cigar. The other is being saved for a round of golf. I got such a buzz from this cigar I couldn't walk! ok.. I could walk, but I fell over 12 times on the way inside. Thanks
