Ashton Cabinet Pyramid Review

Ok, this one has a little story behind it....bare with me..

JJ's little bro BJ was down here in Orlando visiting the Sunshine State, so we got together and I took him around Orlando. Being true cigar lovers, we wanted to find a good cigar shop before we even began looking around at the city and the rat trap (that's what we natives call Disney World). So I drove to Church Street Station downtown (great place). First place we went to in there was a small bar called "Cigarz" run by a gentleman who was not of the hetero intrest if you know what I mean. Their selection was piss poor and we both wanted out of there faster than we walked in. About 1:00, we went to another place that had, get this, about 8 boxes of Opus X's stacked in a display across the hallway. They had a HUGE Fuente display across from the shop and had a magnificent walk in humidor. So we probably spent a good 25 minutes in the humi grappling over which cigar to buy. Being a Montecristo man, I wanted to buy a Montecristo Belicoso, but they were a little expensive AND they were freakin huge and we didn't have all the time in the world to smoke. So, my eyes kept looking at this Ashton Pyramid. It was beautiful, so in true Justin fashion, after much deliberation, I said to myself "SELF! BUY THE DAMN CIGAR. IT WILL BE SUNSET SOON!!!!" So I bought it and we went to Universal Studios CityWalk and had some lunch and cigars at NASCAR Cafe, next to Emeril Lagasse's place. What a beautiful day it was too...anyway, here is the review..

Price: $8.75
This natural Conneticut shade wrapper was immaculate. This was my first Ashton, so I had never really looked at their construction. The cigar was very tight, but still springy to the touch. A nice sheen, but not too oily surface. When I lit the cigar, it immediately eng

What happened? I actually am curious about the non VSG ashtons (Although they say "cabinet" on them as well). If you have time, it would be cool if you could finish this.

I don't know what happened...but I'll pick up where I left off..That's crazy!!

engulfed in a sweet aroma with a nutty mild flavor to it. The ash was nice, tight and compact. It didn't need to be nursed to stay lit, it was perfect. The only thing that pissed me off was when the food came, we were talking and the cigar went out. When I relit, it was nasty and ashy tasting. But I guess that comes with the territory. Anyway, the cigar was fantastic!

Overall Rating: 8.0
