Amazing

Alright, I doubt anyone has noticed, but I have "bashed" the Padrom 1964 anniversary line a few times. I was surprised at how bad they were given the reputation they have on this site. Turns out that the store I was buying them from just got in trouble for fakes (Opus X and Padron Anniversary). I should specify that it was not any sort of legal trouble, but a customer had complained and threatened vociferously and the store had pulled out its humidor. So, I was curious to see whether the Padrons I had bought were indeed fakes. Well, I read the T25C article with the Padrons and noted the label info. I checked out the label on the cigars I had bought and, although they had serial numbers they did not have the second band. Well, maybe they were old? I don't think so because the guy was adamant that they were from this year when I bought them. Well, I then went to a very reputable but very "snooty" store (I was wearing a suit today, so no funny looks), and I bought a 1964 anniversary. All I can say is BLIMEY!! I smoke mostly ISOMS, but this cigar is easily one of the best I have EVER had. Absolutely outstanding. It was a box pressed torpedo, didn't catch the model name. It was a natural wrapper and had both bands. It drew like a dream when it was cut. I lit it and oh my Lord. The flavor on my palate was a mix of spice, floral and that Nic. sweetish, nut like taste. BUT, the best part was this spicy tingle that flew through my nose every time I exhaled. This thing was a smoker (literally and figuratively). I smoked it all the way down and let the flavor build and mingle. Damn, Damn, Damn. I have been having a disappointing string of cigars lately, and this one just made my past two months. Thank you Padron. I am going to try one more tomorrow, and if it is just as good, I am getting a box or three. I am sure all of you have had these, but if you haven't do it. I am in shock.

RE: Amazing

I have to agree with you. The Anniversarios are great...I personally prefer the maduros. Although I don't have a whole lot of experience with Havanas, I think that the PAM's can rival many of them. The only problem is their availability, AND PRICE :-(

RE: Amazing

Girl_Zero's website/store, www.uptowncigar.com has 'em in singles or boxes. Since I can't seem to find any around town, I'm thinking of visiting and getting a few. Another site is www.netcigar.com.
