Carlos Torano 1916 Cameroon.. Review

I was gifted one of these by a fellow BOTL and decided Id smoke it today, in the COLD.. it was about 15 degrees when I went outside to smoke it this morning!

First impression, with the pre light draw, is that this is going to be a GOOOOD. A bit of sweetness, and nuttyness. I lit it up, and it was just outstanding from the first draw, all the way down to the last. Lots of billowing smoke, and the sweet nutty flavor lasted through the whole cigar. Awesome cigar, and now I find myself searching Cbid for a box.. Damn I really need a coolerdor now.

These in Torpedo are always on my stock list. They are nice break from the dark strong cigars I favor.

My QUESTION, sir, is how you could POSSIBLY enjoy a fine cigar in such a climate!!!

I should belive that, under such circumstances, I should piss icicles and make prayers!

Did the wrapper crack on you? I have a churchill often on the golf course and when its colder, that thin cameroon cracks like crazy. Still smokes good, of course.

Nice review btw. I love this one too!

Nice review. I agree, this is a good one. I like almost every cigar Torano has a hand in. If you haven't given the Exodus Silver a try, you are in for a real treat. Take your time and get a good deal, Torano's are not usually too pricey.

Re: Carlos Torano 1916 Cameroon..

Aaron hooked me up with 1/2 a box of the 1916 Robustos. I had one a few months ago and it was great; my mouth is watering thinking about them now. Might have just figured out what I will be smoking tonight.

Nice review. I like the churchill and corona in this line. I finished off a box a few months ago, thanks for reminding me to get some more

I smoke my last 1916 robusto right before Christmas.
Most excellent smokes.
All Toranos for that matter.

Re: Carlos Torano 1916 Cameroon..

I don't smoke cameroon wrapped in the cold climes, been my observation that they usually crack when they get cold. I save them for warmer temps. Probably a non expanding wrapper and when the filler gets hot boom. But I do like them and the 59's,

Re: Carlos Torano 1916 Cameroon..

For those that asked, my winterwear consisted of a heavy jacket, and a sweatshirt with a hood, along with gloves and two pairs of socks As far as cracking, yes, it did crack, and I expected it too, I just couldn't wait to dip into it It still smoked well, and was a great treat. Everything Ive tried from Torano has been a hit with me. So far, the Signature line robusto is my favorite. I enjoyed it immensly, and am happy to say, I still have one left in the humi from a seperate bomb that I plan on smoking when it gets warmer, to see what that non cracked wrapper can really do!
