Macanudo 1968 Review
Macanudo 1968 Review by a N00b
My first impressions were that this stick looks and feels very nice. I like a good, firm cigar, and this fits the bill pretty well. Out of the wrapper ![]() It smells good. How does it taste? I cut the cap off and give it a prelight draw. Tastes light and pretty mild. On to lighting her up. She lights well. Burns pretty evenly and tastes a little strong. I’m assuming from initial light. ![]() The flavor leveled out and was VERY smooth. No strong hints of anything, compared to some of the sticks I’ve had recently. This isn’t to say it doesn’t have flavor. I just don’t have a good enough pallete to tell you what the flavors are yet. This stays for the first 1/3 of the stick. ![]() Here the flavor changes a bit, to a little stronger. Not much, but notably different. 2/3 ![]() When I got to the 3/3 portion of the smoke, it wouldn’t burn very evenly anymore and it started burning hot. I let it sit for a minute to cool off and it helped for about 2 “puffs” and it was hot again. I haven’t had a cigar yet that was this warm to the touch. Even with less length on it. The flavor was a good bit more pronounced at this point as well. Maybe because it was burning so hot. ![]() This is the drink that helped me get through it. I must say it went very well with the 1968. ![]() And one more pic just for the hell of it, because I am a picture whore. ![]()

Nice review, Chris. That's a kick-arse bobken too.

Re: Macanudo 1968
I have to say I did like the cigar with the exception of it burning so hot. Another member said he had to get his burning pretty hot to get good smoke. This is true. It is a very smooth smoke and I would smoke one again, but I'd probably let it get a month or so in the coolador first. the finish is pretty smooth throughout the cigar but the aftertaste lingers with you. I brushed my teeth/mouth and gargled with citrus listerine and I can still taste it.
I love this bobken, man. It double as an ash tray in the car as well since it can hang on the door panel like one of those old cup holders or it can fit in your cup holder(if you have them in your car). I dont have cup holders so the fact that it can sit there is NICE. I didnt have a clue it would hang on my rocking chair so well, but it worked perfectly and I didnt have to do much moving at all during this smoke. ![]()
