Rocky Patel Edge Special Edition 05 (5" x 54RG) Review
Ordered a box of these from ci last week. This is what CI said:
Is part of a special edition, limited production release for 2005, Rocky Patel produced a new size: a bulky, densely packed 5" x 54 Robusto Grande. Available in boxes of 20, with 10 each of Corojo and Maduro inside!
Predraw, kind of loose but not too loose. Construction was excellent with no blemishes and a perfect wrapper.
Lit up perfectly. Smoke was not that volumous but okay. Taste was hard to define, kind of sweet without that woodsy twang that i like. Still okay, but "different". Over the next half lenght of the cigar the taste stayed very consistent but the cigar wanted to die off on me. Hard to keep lit and had to be smoked fairly hard to get going. Still it's a pleasant smoke that is both mild and bolder at the same time. Mild in the mouth, but aftertaste is quite bold.
Ash is perfect and just stuck onto the cigar for over half of it.
It sort of self died on the last 30% and i didn't relit. It stayed consistent and i got used to it, but i wouldn't rank it as a top cigar. It's a decent go-to cigar but i'm more of a carlos torano kind of guy i think. It's hard to define this stick but i cant say it was bad, but it wasn't that memorable either. It was sort of both at the same time. Quite good but not outstanding if that makes sense.
I'd recommend others to try it, it's a decent smoke for the money.
