Illusione cg:4 Review

This cigar is a beauty. While the team that makes this seems very hip and market savvy this little stick is something of a treasure - a smoke without pretense, just quality. I don’t know if anyone is making cigars quite like these. I guess the term that best describes it is artisan.

I have had two of these in the last two days. I wanted to smoke it today to see if it as i good i felt it was the day before. And it really is.

There’s a depth of flavor that is consistent through out this smoke. This is not to say that it is not complex. The last third is as enjoyable as the first 2/3. At first there is a leather flavor and toasted tobacco. The last third reminded me of chicory - a little bitter but still completely enjoyable. The aroma of this stick was like meeting a friend who you feel you must have known before but are just meeting for the first time. Rich and warm - if this were a food it would be not your mother’s pot roast but a new version that somehow is like your mother’s but more so. I could smoke these everyday. Good with smooth American bourbon or black coffee. I rated cigars cigars with numbers because the smoking of a good cigars is experiential. It should be one of the best parts of the day.
For two days going, it’s been the best part of an already good weekend. I have four more sticks in the illusione line and I'm looking forward to each.

Re: Illusione cg:4

Very nice review and write up!!!

I really enjoy these as well as every Illusione I have tried!!!

The CG:4 has a perfect draw and does not seem as tightly packed as the F9 or the 88.

CG:4 is my favorite Illusione, perfect size, and wonderful flavor. It's yet to disappoint me.

I am glad to see people enjoy what I have labeled "The Macanudo Jr." of cigars.

Re: Illusione cg:4

These things are some of my favorite, but it seems strange on how few folks seem to be still unaware of Illusione.

While at The Texas Fest Cigar event a couple of weeks ago I was smoking a cg4 and the comments about the aroma were coming from everyone. When I told them what I was smoking....quite a few blank stares and huhs?

Just thought it was strange after a year or so in the market..
