La Gloria Cubana Serie R Review

I was gifted this in a PIF...

Nice Maduro wrapper. Small veins with a bit of a rough look. Firm to the touch. Cut clean and had a pleasant not to tight draw. A bit of canoeing right from the start but one touch up and it was fine. The first third was a nice mix of sweet fruit and soft leather and strong coffee. Reminds me of the Graycliff 1666. The light colored ash was a bit ragged but stayed firm until I knocked it off at about a solid inch and a half. The second third the leather was more pronounced and it definitely showed more strength. I noticed my fingers are stained!! Going into the last third the leather is still there but not as prominent. Picking up a really nice oaky wood taste. Final third stayed pretty much the same as it started. I would definitely smoke these again.

[SIZE=3]Thanks for the review Brent. The Series R that I enjoy from this line is the #5 Natural. A nice little smoke indeed

Ditto that MarkinCA. I too like the #5 Natural. I have gone through boxes of both (more of the Natural) and they are delicious.

Re: La Gloria Cubana Serie R

Been wanting to try these for a while, maduros of course. I just bought a 10pk that was on Joe Cigar yesterday, so I'll be trying them soon.

Great review

The #5's and 6's are one of my favorites and are always on hand. The maduros in each are pretty tasty too.

The LGC SR5 Maduro was one of my first loves. Great smoke.

Re: La Gloria Cubana Serie R

Thanks for the review. Almost ordered a 5-pack from JR. Wasn't sure about it though. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being strongest, how would these LGC's rate?

Thanks!

Re: La Gloria Cubana Serie R

LGCR5 nats are one of my favorite cigars of that size. I'd put them around 7 on a 10 point scale for strength .. I don't know how they age as they never last too long.

Re: La Gloria Cubana Serie R

Well, another I gotta try. I've been wanting to try out LGC, but was unsure about them and kept finding other things that I wanted to try more for whatever reason (usually price).

Anybody got any input on the special figurado (?) line?
