Thumbs up Tatuaje Monster Series - The Frank Review

Tatuaje Monster Series - The Frank
Double Corona, Box Pressed
Smoke time: 2 hours

SETTING:

In my garage, immobile, about 60 degrees outside, raining, drinking homemade hot chocolate with rumple minze.

SMOKING EXPERIENCE:

The pre light for this stick tasted like pure dark Nicaraguan tobacco, sweet tobacco, just good sweet tobacco. This stick was packed with flavors, dark chocolate, spice, cedar, hints of leather, it produced tons of smoke, the stick mellowed out and went to straight Nic tobacco with no spice and then came back about the 1/3 point and POW more spice with cedar and dark chocolate. The end got a very deep cedar flavor, not bitter but very dark and deep.

CONSTRUCTION:

Wonderful construction, no big veins, no running, required a small touch up about 2/3 through.

OVERALL:

This was a fantastic smoke. I loved it. I can't wait for the Drac next year. I might need a box of these for long term, being a Tatuaje and Monster Movie lover.

Thanks for the review D.

Sounds like a classic Pepin smoke.

Re: Tatuaje Monster Series - The Frank

I am a little worried about this one, I am usually not a huge fan of Connecticut-broadleaf wrappers, but I hope this one is different.

I have had a couple of La Riqueza and Cab Maduros and they were alright, but not as good as the Tatuajes that are Nicaraguan puros (at least for me).

Oh well, box number 1 arrived yesterday and boxes 2 and 3 should be here on Monday.

Great review Darrell. I might have to break my rule and smoke one of these fresh off the truck instead of waiting the usual 6 months to a year.

Yeh, I haven't really been buying many Fuentes lately (or cigars from the DR for that matter). I really do prefer Nicaraguan tobacco. I am still aging anejos and opusX, but I probably won't buy any this year. . . ok maybe just one box of 50's if I can find one easily.

Re: Tatuaje Monster Series - The Frank

Spot on review Darrell! Smoke The Frank midnight of Halloween and it lived up to the hype. Smoked amazingly well out of the box. Speaking of the box, I dig the casket motif.
