Punch Gran Puro Review @ The Tinderbox!!!

Vitals:

Brand: Punch

Build: Gran Puro
Size: 5.5 x 54
Cost: 6.50
Drink: Lipton Green Tea

Backstory:

So lets develop the setting. I am at the Tinderbox (yes, one of the same tinderbox's we see advertisements on this site for) in Easton (Columbus Ohio). It's about 7:30 and Nicole doesn't get off work until 9:45 so i decide to do a little browsing/shopping at the mall. I walk over to the tinderbox and introduce myself to the guys behind the counter and they say "HEY"... "we are gonna sit around and herf while watching the elections, there's a blue band playing on the patio of the eatery next door, you should stick around"... What a great group of guys. I talk to the guy behind the counter named Justin (cool guy) and he reccomends that i try the Punch Gran Puro (rancho).

Justin's Description - "This is the type of cigar that i can wake up and smoke, sit down to lunch and smoke with, or relax with after a large dinner"

.... So it's gotta be good right?

Prelude:
This thing has a nice mild and mellow aroma. Not the typical cigar that i smoke, but it was reccomended... WHO's NOT gonna try it right?

At First Light:
I lit it terribly uneven (hard to believe from this knucklehead).... haha, but you know what, it evened out, and rather quickly.

The Draw:
I wanted to make an individual blurb about the draw of this cigar. This cigar's draw left nothing to be desired! It was perfect, alot more consistent than alot of cigars that i've recently smoked. I am completely satisfied with this aspect of the cigar.

One inch toward the finish line:
The cigar starts of very woodsy and mellows out about 10-15 minutes into it. It's a very smooth blend and the aroma of the burning cigar is nothing less than tempting.... to chew on!

The Controversy:
The internal struggle is that i don't usually smoke cigars like this. It's very mellow for a med-full bodied smoke and is accompanied great by the green iced tea. its soothing, much liek the aroma of the burning stick.

R&R:
Relaxing, smooth, medium bodied... deffinitely a unique combo. This cigars elements are Honduran and i have like many Honduran cigars in my small time of being a cigar smoker.

Once again, the tea complimented this smoek tremendously. This would also be a great cigar to enjoy with a Gin and tonic.

the Draw is still as smooth and good as ever. The cigar is starting to spice up a little bit and heat up. Extremely enjoyable!

Rounding the bend:
This is a race that i'm in no hurry to finish. The company is great, the blues music is playing, and the cigar is smoking... What more could you want?

the cigar heats up a little more, that medium body is really showing through. this thing has just enough of everything... mellow tones, great draw, extensive but smooth flavor... even for the type of cigar that i rarely smoke.

Finish & Summary:
I would never dare to write a review about a cigar that i didn't really enjoy, unless it was to inform people of how terrible something was. This is definitely not the case as you've read above.

I am satisfied with this experience. It is the first time that i've ever sat around at a cigar shop and herfed with the boys. the Tinderbox is an amazing and welcoming establishment. If you Guys are ever in the Columbus area i'd deff. reccomend checkign this spot (and this smoke) out.

Cliffs:
1. Smooth but med-full bodied
2. Draw was a 10/10
3. goes great with a mellow drink
4. the Tinderbox is the shizznit!!

Great review! My friend gave me one a few weeks ago...I didn't think I'd go for it, but after letting it sit in my Humi, I sparked it up two sundays ago and loved it also.

Re: Punch Gran Puro @ The Tinderbox!!!

Very good review and what's funny is that I smoked one this afternoon when taking the dog out for a walk. Mine has been in the humi for about 6 months so it was just waiting for me and it was very satisfying. I have always been a fan of this cigar and after today I might as well get another box to age.

Great review! I've had one in the humi since June and you've got me excited to smoke it. It's supposed to reach 65F so this may be the day!
