The El Jocko's are my "everyday smoke". I probably smoke more of the natural version; but I do enjoy the maduro.

I can't remember if I've told the El Jocko story here at Club Stogie. The cigars are named after Jocko Hedblade. Jocko used to work here at Jack Schwartz Importer. Litto Gomez invited Billy (the owner) and Jocko to the Dominican Republic to tour the farm/factory. Well Litto had the prototype of the El Jocko there but he didn't have a name for the new cigar. Long story short, Jocko hopped on a burro, threw a bundle of tobacco over his shoulder and told Litto he had a whole marketing campaign for the cigar if Litto called it the El Jocko. Litto did call the cigar the El Jocko. Litto actually purchased the burro from the owner, called it El Jocko, and it still lives on his farm today. The photo I attached is the one someone snapped when Jocko was pitching his marketing campaign.

I contacted CI to inquire about purchasing a box of these, and they informed me that they have been discontinued.

I found this hard to accept, because I assumed this was one of Fuente's biggest sellers.

Can anybody here confirm this?

well if you asked them about the love story then they just made up something to get you off the phone. they've never carried them.

the short stories are still made as far as i know. the locals still have plenty of boxes.

Sorry for the confusion, I was referring to the Short Story.

Re: Arturo Fuente Short Story aka "A Love Story"

I had my first Short Story back in the summer and loved it. I only wished I brought more back with me. Thanks for the review.

I agree, if this is true I think I will stock up too. Nice review by the way. I am smoking a Short Story now and I have to agree with you on the sweet spice. I get a hint of nuttiness as well.
