Sancho Panza Double Maduro Review

Shape: Robusto
Wrapper: USA/Conn
Filler: Honduras
Binder: USA/Conn

The wrapper is really nice, I mean wow, it looks really nice. Almost flawless, with now veins. The color is great, because it's dark makes me hope for a strong rich flavor. I've had the Sancho Panza Maduro and the Extra Fuerte and I really enjoy them both. So I'm hoping to have a great experience with this one as well.
I got a v cut just for the hell of it, but in my opinion a mistake. To big for a small cigar. Punch seemed like the best answer to me, but then again I punch everything and anything.

The pre draw has a very strong taste that lasts in your mouth. The flavor is like strong coffee and wood.

The initial draw is very tasty with a coffee and spice hint. Very nice, and it burns slow.
Honestly, I taste the "Maduroness", but I'm not impressed at all. Looks great, but doesn't taste right to me, it's just not good.

Over an inch into it. The taste is consistent. Rich, but just doesn't feel like what I want. I guess the other two SP's set the bar too high for this fellow. If you are a Maduro guy, stick to the SP-Maduro and don't go around the double maduro

I tell you what though. One of the best burns I've ever seen. Strong ash, holds well, and the color is nice too.

Once it reached this state, I realized I wasn't going anywhere with this fella. The taste was consistent, and against my taste. So I shut it off, and went about my business.

Overall, it's something I'd smoke if a friend offered, but I wouldn't pick it up the shelf. I'd move my hand a few inches to the right or left and pick up one of it's siblings.

Have a good smoke

To my knowledge, Sancho Panza only has three lines. The regular SP, the Double Maduro and the Extra Fuerte.

That's what I thought as well, but the guy showed me the box, and it said Maduro on... I don't know, but it's my favorite SP!

Re: Sancho Panza Double Maduro

The empty S.P. dbl. maduro boxes I have laying around (3 boxes-Quixote & Cervantes) have "Double Maduro" on them.

Ditto on this,,,let them age in the humi for a few months to let them mellow out then do another review.

I don't know if it's still this way but all of the S.P. double maduro boxes I received in the last two years had an overwhelming lacquer paint smell. I've never put a SP box in my coolers. I aired them out in the shop and gave one to my oldest daughter after airing out for 6 months and she still commented on the smell.
