[SIZE=3]One of the first cigars I ever smoked was a CAO Gold Maddie. It is such a great somke. It is the reason that turned me on to the maduro wrapper found on many cigars. I cannot stress enough how great this stick is. Alot of people say "CAO is the nike of cigars" due to their extensive advertising and well known brand because of it. I say... Heaven forbid someone go and try to market their product for company growth!!! /sarcasm.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=3]CAO cigars have never let me down, they are constructed well, burn even for the most part, and are consistent through all of their models.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=3]The first thing you notice is it's wonderful construction sided by its beautiful unlit arome. The cigar scream quality and you will find that when you light it up, its good from the start. [/SIZE]

Out of the gate:

Like i said, this thing is good from draw one. Its flavor is emmense, MAN, even sitting here after having smoked it i can still feel the tender cedar chocolate flavors on my tounge and in my mouth, Im salicating.... and contemplating smoking another RIGHT NOW!

The flavor is there, the burn is even... but a little off tonight, no big deal, the aroma and taste make up for it.

I have never smoked a CAO with a bad draw, and this is no exception!

This Cigar...:
This cigar has never let me down, thats probably why i keep 5-10 in my humi at all times. I prefer the torpedo usually but i wanted a nice little "After work" treat since it was a long hard day at the office.




The end of an old friend:

The cigar really heats up nearing the end once you drop the ash. the spirited flavors pour out with the copious amounts of smoke that rise from your pallette. IT has truly been another great and consistent experience.





The relaxation period:

Well, i just finished her off and i am completely satisfied. I;m going to lay up on the couch and enjoy the tube. Thanks for sharing my second favorite smoke (in the world) with me.

Thanks for the review. Nice as always. I have had a few of the Gold but not a fan like you. Decent cigar but not at the top of my list.

Nice pics and review. I tried one of these last week and i didnt like it. Abit too grassy and mild for my taste. It was my first CAO and i was so disappointed BUT then i tried the criollo.. Now that is my kind of flavour. What would you guys describe the criollo flavour as???

Nice review...I may have to pick one of these up. How would you classify it strength-wise? I imagine mild-medium because the CAO gold with the connecticut wrapper is really mild, but I am curious what your experience is?

LOL Bobby, with your image and the punk music I had you pegged as British until I saw you're in Ohio! Nice review Personally though I've never had a CAO I've liked enough to buy again. The Brazilia was decent, but not great by any means. I also disliked the Italia. I'm looking to try the America one. Maybe I should try this one you reviewed. I was also thinking of either trying the L'Anniversaire or the 65th Anniversary, any opinions? I do agree though, the construction and draw has always been good on the ones I've tried. But if I'm still not impressed after the next two CAO's I try I might shy away from the brand.

Rev, i have tried alot of different CAOs.

What sisnt' you like about the italia? i realyl liked that one.

MY fav CAOs would be.

Gold Maduro
Brazilia
Italia


the America is very good, it was jsut too grassy and dry for me. I will smoek another to see if the setting change adds or takes away from it. I'm deff. going to give the America a round 2... ebcause it looks cool. (at least im honest)


BTW, the Box pressed Cameroon with the gold label is awesome. try that one... in the pyramid shape!!!

Hey Bro

I just walked into the house after smoking one of these Gems. I agree with you completely. I never had a CAO before, got one from CI monthly club. I love maduros, Padrons are my favs but this cigar is a close second in my opinion. It tasted great just chewing on it!! The wrapper is a beaut I'm definitly going to buy a box of these soon. My only problem was the air was cold outside ( abot 35) so it took some of the flavor away for me. Can't wait for an opportunity to light one up in a better environment.
