LFD - Jocko Maduro aka "My first tunneling experience"

Size: 4 1/2 x 54
Shape: Perfecto
Wrapper: Mexico
Filler: Dom. Rep.

The design is really nice. The body is very similar to La Gloria Cubana Reserva Figurado. The wrapper is really dark, and flawless. I think the shape is really nice.

To me the initial taste is also very similar to the LGC, it's probably because the first draws are really cool. These are the only two cigars I've had that the first inch or so gives you really cool smoke. The ash is very nice, medium grey, and it is holding really good and it's keepig it's original shape very well.

It is very very spicy, but really really good. So I guess you could say it's the good kind of spice, you want in your cigar. I think it would go really well with a sour drink. Next time I'm going to have it with some homemade lemonade, with just a little sugar.

I dropped the ash, and continued at it. The spice flavor is steady, though the cigar is burning slow. I'm enjoying it very much.

This cigar wasn't burning slow, it was tunneling!! I burned the wrapper as to show how much it had tunneled. What do you guys do when a cigar starts tunneling, do you start burning the wrapper to make it catch up to the filler, or is there something else?

Now that the wrapper was burned, we were back in business! It continues to be very spicy, very nice! By this point as Katt Williams says, I was on autopilot, and making love to this great cigar. This cigar is dead on, and it pulls through to the very end with a rich flavor.

The only thing missing from this experience was a good drink to chase it with. At some points the spice would become too much, and I just wish there was something else to have to go along with it.

At this point I had to let the cigar go, the flavor was there, but it was getting really hard to hold it in my hand and smoke it. It was probably the first cigar, that reached the turn off point, but I wanted to continue, because the flavor was still there. I'm gonna go to my B&M today and get a few more sticks of this great cigar!

Often you can prevent tunneling by dry boxing for a few hours up to a day. It sometimes happens with ligero wrappers. Ligero is the slowest burning leaf and if it is wet this can occur. What rh do you keep your smokes? Sometimes lowering to 62-65% can also prevent this from happening.

Well I had actually bought it the same night, so it may have been a little too fresh to smoke... I usually keep my humidor at around 67%, I think it seems to do the trick

Re: LFD - Jocko Maduro aka "My first tunneling experience"

Another great review!

You know, I just had mine last week and posted this: http://www.clubstogie.com/vb/showthread.php?t=198105

And come to think of it, I had a little bit of a tunneling issue myself and just eventually burned it even. I tried Scottw's trick of keeping the slower burning side down, the faster burning side up and it usually corrects more times than not (thanks Scott! ) but this time I was a little impatient and it was gettin' pretty deep so I burned it even. It did the trick.
