Well,
My best friend in the world came all the way down to Tasmania for two weeks, and for a weekend we drove to the Freycinet Nat'l park on the east coast of Tazzie and hiked, swam, camped near the beach, drank lots of homebrewed beer, and smoked some cigars. Here's the deal on the egg...We shared it sitting on the beach, drinking a cold beer in the warm late summer sun. Appearance: Quite unique, to say the least. I can't really describe it if you don't know what it looks like. Best to check the website or Cigars int'ls website. Light brown, with a few splotches in the wrapper towards the foot. wrapper felt thin and brittle. Taste: Started out with a light cinnamon taste, similar to the Drew Estate Root. The draw was a little tight, surprising for such a HUGE ring gauge. almost immediately the burn was off, and even with extensive touchups never really burned straight. Soon, It became hot, tarry and bitter almost half way through. The ash flaked off in clumps, and one side literally burned up and the other would not even stay lit. We ditched it 2/3 of the way through and both lit up an 5 Vegas Series A. We were much happier with that. |

It is a bit ridiculous looking IMHO. While I have no experience smoking a cigar of this shape...I might imagine that there could be some burn problems.

Re: Drew Estate-The Egg
I have yet to enjoy a Drew Estate cigar. His and ACID cigars, to me, are just a fuss about nothing.

Re: Drew Estate-The Egg
I think the Egg is actually rather amusing, and would consider giving one as a gag gift!
As for actually smoking one? JEEZ! I wouldn't even know how to hold the sucker! Speaking of tobacco novelties.... Have you seen the 18-inch "baseball bat" single they're peddling on Cbid!? I would LOVE to read a straight-face review on that one!!! |
