Gurkha Black Dragon Robusto aka "My First Gurkha" Review
Filler: Dominican
Binder: Cameroon Wrapper: Connecticut Maduro I was waiting for a while to get my hands on a Gurkha, and I finally did. I had gotten this Gurkha the day before I smoked it. Sure not enough time in the humi, but what can I say I just couldn't wait. I couldn't wait to the point where I smoked this cigar at around 12 0 in the morning, hoping it would relieve some of my long day stress.TO THE CIGAR: This cigar looked really good. The name black dragon kinda made it special, and Robusto is my favourite size. Though there was no mention of maduro, the color kinda made me feel like it was maduro. And sure enough when I read later it said the wrapper was maduro. ![]() The wrapper looked really nice. I wouldn't say flawless, but really serious, kind of like " I mean business". And I couldn't wait to get started. I specially liked the band around it. If the leader of the flying monkeys could get the wizard of Oz to turn him human, I think he would look like the Gurkha guy! Hopefully I didn't offend any Gurkha or Judy Garland fans out there. I punched it, as I do most of my cigars, and the pre light draw gave me a really nice mild flavor of spice. ![]() wow this cigar is 1/3" or so into it and my eyes are puffy, this is some strong stuff, or it might just be because I'm really tired, nonetheless it feels great. The draw feels like bungee jumping. You go and go, and right when you feel like it's too far, it stops, and bounces right back up. So minus the bounce back up, what I'm trying to say is that this cigar goes until it's enough, at no point do yo ufeel like it's becoming too much.... ![]() I taste a hint of spice and pepper, but there is a dominent taste that I can't quite get my hands on. The ash color, the burn, they are almost flawless. One of the best burns I've ever had. ![]() I feel like that taste I was thinking about, it's a flavor I've tasted before, maybe coffee, no so sure though. Little over half done and there's a crack, I hpe it doesn't mess up. ![]() Once I asked a friend about Gurkha, and he told me it's a very unique flavor. That is very true. They are very unique in flavor. You the tastes, but at the same time, it feels like it's own brand of flavor. ![]() In the last third I feel like the spice is kicking in full force. Very tasty though. You know me, I'm a big fan of spice, so can't complain there. And the crack in the cigar didn't mess anything up, so that was good as well. ![]() To wrap it up: Great cigar. Great texture and color. Great flavor. A definite addition to my humi. Four thumbs up |

Re: Gurkha Black Dragon Robusto aka "My First Gurkha"
Good review! I've been wondering about these for a while now, but I still haven't picked any up to try. Might just have to now!
