Tatuaja Havana VI Angeles Review

After reading many other reviews and smoking a lot more cigars, I’m going to take a shot at an numerically rating system based on a few overall critical of “Overall Appearance,” being 12%, “Construction and Draw being” being 19%, “Burn” being 19%, and “Taste” being the remaining 50%.

Tatuaja Havana VI Angeles, $5 off CigarBid

Overall Appearance: Bad (0), OK (1), Good (2)
Appearance: Good (2)
Consistency of Wrapper: Good (2)
Construction and Draw: Bad (0), OK (1), Good (2)
Construction too Lose/Hard: OK (1)
Draw too Easy/Hard: Good (2)
Well Made: Good (2)
Burn: Bad (0), OK (1), Good (2)
Initial: OK (1)
Even: OK (1)
Too Fast/Slow: Good (2)
Taste: Bad (0), OK (2), Good (4)
First Third: Good (4)
Second Third: OK (2)
Final Third: OK (2)
Complexity: OK (2)
Total score of 23 out of 32 – 72%

Well, it’s time to do the yearly budget and I was told from the VP of Budgeting to get the first draft in by the 12th of December. The plant owner comes to me today and says “Hey, my boss wants a copy. Could you get it done by Monday?” Well, good thing I like this guy otherwise I would have said no. I sat down at my local golf course clubhouse, loaded my laptop, and lit my cigar.
Review
1st Third

The first draw was quite surprising for a little cigar as it was a very near full flavor with some of that Peppin spice and loads of peppery. I could taste some faint hints of floral cloves while a rich toasted wood filled in the rest. Lots of good solid smoke too.
2nd Third

The strength mellowed out a bit and became more medium-full at most. A lot of that spice and pepper faded into a very smooth and creamy smoke. The toasted wood soon turned into more of a toasted paper.
3rd and Finish

Some of that spice and pepper started to come back but it was were ghosts of what they previously were in the first third. Not much beyond that though as the taste started to die down.
Thoughts
This cigar looks very nice, almost “cute” so definitely not something to show how manly you are; maybe ladies like that look eh? Construction wise, it was kind of hard but the draw was good and overall it was well made. I did have problems with the burn though as it became uneven in quite a few places and required a good bit of touchups but it burned at a great rate. Flavor wise, now that I’ve had a lot more Don Peppin, I do like the spice and pepper flavor (as long as it is not overkill). I would have liked to have a good strong cigar throughout but it did mellow out considerably. The taste wasn’t bad but it got a bit faint in some areas. What really kills this cigar for me is the price, $5 off of CigarBid. It’s a good cigar, don’t get me wrong, but definitely not worth the price.

Re: Tatuaja Havana VI Angeles

Nice review, I like these cigars a lot. These are nice when I'm looking for a quick smoke. I agree that these are medium/medium-full at most. If you're looking for something similar with a little more strength, I would recommend the Tatuaje Noellas (Brown label). The Noellas is another one of my favorites and offers a little more punch than the Angeles.

Re: Tatuaja Havana VI Angeles

I was sent one of these in a newbie trade by DonnieW. I have not smoked a Tat before, although I do have a few in the humidor. I had a short amount of time today, so this guy fit the bill.

I was blown away by the amount of smoke this little guy produces. I have had plenty of toro and larger sized cigars lately that didn't even come close to this.

The flavor was pretty intensely peppery, which I gather is normal for the Tats. I got a hint of sweetness under all the spice, but just at the beginning, and not for long.

The draw was pretty loose, but not bad. I am just glad I only sliced off the minimum I could reach with the Xikar.

The nicotine was definately in the med to strong catagory for me. I had to take it easy, but was able to keep the buzz pleasant.

THANKS Donnie!

Re: Tatuaja Havana VI Angeles

Nice review. I think I have a couple of these lurking in one of my humis, if memory serves.

I'll have to give one a try soon. Thank you for sharing your experience with us!
