Padron Corticos Maduro Review

This is my first attempt at a review; so, bare with me.

Brand: Padron
Build: Corticos
Size: 4 1/4" by 35 ring gauge
Price: $2.00

This little stick is pretty much the same in looks as the 1000 series smokes. The wrapper is nice oily, rough, dark brown with a few veins. Not a bad looking stick but it won't win awards for great looks.

Pre-light draw is very good. I worried it could be a little tight. Rolling it between my fingers it felt a little tight. My concerns were unfounded. Overall the burn and construction is great.

From the first puff the sweet maduro wrapper comes right through along with I would call that classic Padron dark bittersweet chocolate flavor. It reminds me of fresh out of the oven chocolate cake. Along with the chocolate is some wood and leather. Lots of nice smoke for such a little cigar. I didn't notice much of a change other than maybe a little cedar and spice towards the end.

Speaking of the end, I bought these looking for a 20 minute winter time smoke. Burn time has been running 45 to 50, flavor packed, minutes on these little guys. They weren't the quick smoke I had planned but at $2.00 I don't feel too bad if I let it die a little early.

I plan on keeping them in my regular winter rotation.
