Taboo HQs and the HSG

I was in the Dallas area this week and I decided to give Taboo HQ a visit. A giant thanks to Rob for his hospitality.

I took my younger brother along, he is not really a cigar smoker, just the black and mild in social settings. But I talked him into going with me. Went inside to be greeted by Patrick, met Rob, another gentleman(forgot his name) and Ted. Rob gave us a tour around the place, very nice setup to herf at. Projection TV with large chairs, a large game table and fridge.

We went in the humidor and were given a brief history of Taboo and the different lines they offer. I was such a kid in a candy shop...
We were treated to a cigar of our choice - I chose the HSG Lancero, my brother chose the Sumatra.
I chose the Lancero because I wanted to taste as much flavor of the cigar as possible, and I heard that is what a smaller ring can offer.

Burn was good, being a smaller ring you have to pay more attention to it but it was even with no running.
Flavor: "DAAAAANG!" -

I really, really liked this cigar- really liked it. I have not been smoking long to tell you all the delicacies of each taste or what they are but it was delicious. That, I do know. I am a nicotine wuss and I did get a buzz off this cigar, just the right amount though. If you are like me than I would start off with the robusto or lancero.

My brother told me he really like the Sumatra, he mentioned he like the sweet creamy flavor. He not a person of many words so that says a lot.

While we smoked we chatted with Ted, he and I traded war stories. It was a good time. Thanks Ted!

When it was time to go I went in the Humidor and picked out 20 robustos and snagged a box to store them in. Then Rob went and did it again, he treated us to another cigar of our choice.

If you are anywhere near the DFW area, give Taboo a call and visit. You will not be disappointed.

Great review! I may get a chance to stop through there after the first of the year on my way to Tennessee.

Ah , finally made it back to Tucson! So tired...

I wish I was a better writter, my description does not do justice to the experience I had there.

My next Taboo smoke will be the LR Conn.

im itchin to try the taboos... never seen them in person & the web page says adult sig required??? do you have to be home for taboo deliveries.
the sfo stick sounds like a tastey headbanger

No you don't have to be home for delivery, mine were shipped USPS and waiting for me in my mailbox.

The HSG Lancero's one of my Favs, and good Ole Ted is a permanent fixture at the store, think I have only been there once that he wasn't, but I didn't stay long that day either.. lol

I'll be heading up there this afternoon being its been a couple weeks sense I have made an appearance.. lol

i was just gifted an SFO (i think) ... its got the little ball at the head of the cigar.. like a knot... cant wait to try it!!
