Tonite I am reviewing the C.A.O. Criollo Conquistador

Construction-First Impression, just a little rough around the edges, but yet refined. Feels Very good in the Hand. This Vitola wears this wrapper well. The physical attraction is definitely there.
Band has an edgy yet sophisticated understatement.

Bouquet-Earth, Wood and Aged Tobacco
Cold Draw-Smooth, Slightly Tight and Sweet.





First Third-Very smooth and rich. Slightly creamy with flavors of sweet sun ripened Plums. Just a touch of spice. Extremely well mannered; ash is mostly white and slightly loose..in a nice casual way. Draw is a little tight, moderate volumes of white smoke with an aroma of smoked hardwoods and roasted coffee. Burn is sharp and precise.




Second Third-Sweet, smooth and rich with a pumpkin spice entering the mix intermittently. The ash just kind of drops off in a casual yet intentional manner....as if to say "yeah, I meant to do that". Burn remains on track nicely. Fairly significant Nicotine hit about half way on the second third. I should have known then, but I was enjoying the pleasant conversation.



Final Third/Finish-Woah! Didn't even see this coming!
An intense and bright spiciness that I never would have anticipated given the well mannered introductions and conversation of the 1st. and 2nd. thirds. This girl is naughty....and I like it! Clothes in a haphazard pile on the floor, the headboard banging out a teeth marked double bass rythym....Anyway...So I digress.



Where was I? Oh yeah..Overall impressions.

I really enjoyed the tactile aspects of this cigar, it really presented a wonderful synergy with the flavors and eye appeal of this cigar.

Alot of character with a nice amount of complexities and an amazing suprise finish. CA gave it a 90. I have to disagree with Marvin and the boys on this one. (They must've been too busy counting their fat stacks when they reviewed this one.) I would call it a 92-93 category stick myself. Burn is compliant requiring no babysitting, it is well dressed for the occasion and offers plenty under the hood to pique your interest. Let's not forget that it's Nicaraguan too! Another winner from C.A.O.
