Oliva Classic "Ole" (Robusto) Review

I ordered a box of these off of Cbid, and got a great price. I was suckered into the purchase based off their #9 rating, my love of the larger size Ole's and the Robusto shaped cigars. However, the first one I had didn’t really excite me. I am going to age these for close to a year and see how they do. Last week I fired one up in my garage with my brother in law. We had a few drinks in us and where enjoying a nice glass of Evan Williams single barrel. The wrapper and presentation are impeccable. I never had a problem with it unraveling or burning issues only on one side. However, it was difficult to draw the smoke and when it came there wasn’t much to it. The taste was lacking and it was a ton of work for what I got in terms of smoke. I kept looking at it and cursing CA and the cigar. I am looking forward to having another one in the future; I just hope these change for the better. I had an El Rey Del Mundo last Wednesday and it immediately found a place in my heart. I enjoyed every aspect of that smoke and will enjoy a box of it in the future. As for the Ole, more to come in a year when I step in the ring for round two.

I bought a five-pack of the Oliva Ole Robustos from my B&M some time ago. I made the purchase based on CA's rating. I was not impressed with the cigar. It did not have any standout characteristics. I was just plain boring. I'd give the Ole a thumbs down.

I got a couple of them a few months ago on the review of CA also. The first I had was so plugged that is was unsmokable. I tried a poker and the wrapper busted apart, so I never got to try it. The other I was giving a bit more time in the humi. I was looking forward to it...... before this

I'm a fan of many Oliva products but the "O" was an, "Oh well." Not bad - not good. Only had one but not planning a revisit.

Liked them alot. First few I had were a bit harsh, but time mellows most things, these babies included. After a short rest at the bottom of the humi, they get much more smooth.

Re: Oliva Classic "Ole" (Robusto)

Yours is the third mediocre review I have read on this cigar in the last week. I haven't tried one, but I don't mind telling you, after reading the reviews, I'm not holding my breath.
