Punch Gran Puro Rancho Review

Got a fiver of these from CI for 17.95

Just looking at it makes me salivate, promising a good hour of cigar heaven.
Dark, oily, chocolately wrapper smells great pre-light. I lit it up and found the draw almost too light, with a slightly spicy start. I expected more from this 'gar, but it turned out to be pretty uneventful. While everything else about the Rancho is first rate, the mildness surprised me. The spiciness remained throughout the smoke, right down to the last 1-1/2 mark. I'd smoke it again, maybe it will surprise me after a little resting.

you got a fiver i certainly hope you would smoke it again but if not you can send the others my way for some quality control testing j/k

Dag. Punch Gran Puro - the mystery. I enjoyed them last summer and, after reading several bad reviews, I wondered what was wrong with people! They weren't smoking the same cigar I was. And not much later, either was I.

So my local put a box on the shelf after I reported how much I liked Gran Puros. Now I wish the box would just go away. About halfway thru it (between me and the other guy who was buying 'em) I hit one that burned sideways, drew bad and tasted worse - I mean, old Russian Army socks taste. I got over that, had another (good) one and then, BAM! A couple more Russian Army socks. I'm done. Can't go back to those guys. The box on the shelf whispers at me each time I walk in the store, "Pleeeeezzeee. Try again - just once more...." but I won't.

(Always try to close positive.) Your luck may be better, and, I still love the Punch rothschild maduros!

No doubt. I've had a couple of the smaller Santa Ritas and they were yummy. If you find that you just can't tolerate them, I'll swap some perro cohetes with you.
