Thumbs up Sherpa Torpedo Review

bought a 5er of these on cbid and thye arrived yesterday.Ive been looking for a good dessert cigar for after dinner at nite. So I had one of these tonite

Wrapper:natural color no real imperfections I can see.Rolled alittle tight Smells great.
I clipped the end about 1/4" up and the draw was too tight so ended up workingmy way up tillI had clipped little over 1/2" off the end of it.

Lit nice and burned evenly. Pretty complex smoke. Kind of nutty and a little spicy mixed with creamyness. Very smooth no bitterness whatsoever. Draw was a little tighter than what I prefer but still not bad at all.

Ash was light grey almost white.

1/2 way throught the smoke it changed some became a little more spicy . Im still fairly new so there are some things going on in the background I dont have the vocabulary to explain.

No bitterness at all. It burned even all the way to the end. this smoke was good and I ended up smoking it untill it burnt my fingers

So in the end Id say sherpa is a very nice medium stick that is well worth the money. on a scale of 1 to 10 I give this stick a 9 I was very impressed with it.

On a side note it was a little too mild for what I think Im beginning to like for a dessert cigar. Tomarrow Im going to have an edge and see how that goes. as it stands right now the sticks I have liked the best for after dinnner have been the darker spicyer (SP?) sticks .

Great review. I got a Sherpa Robusto in a bomb and liked it enough to buy a bundle of the Dos Capos. They are a very nice smoke. Very mild and mellow. If you are in the mood for that type of smoke, then they are perfect. But they may taste flat and flavorless to a lot of people.

Very nice review!!

And I agree... For the money, the Sherpa is a good bet! I have a bunch in the cooler, getting some rest. Come May or June, I figure they'll be ready to join me and a frosty-cold beer!

Alped,

I'd be interested on your take as well! I've never smoked a "barber pole," and wondering whether the novelty is worth it or not!

Ah memories of an unbridled CI buying addicted past.

A great golfing, cutting the grass etc. cigar. K hansottia has a gazillion different lines to try and except for the east indian I liked them all.

Well, I paid $31 for my bundle. I caught CBid on a good night. I still will grab a bundle of the Robustos at some point.

I think it is well worth it. THey are a mild smoke that is not much different than the Robusto as far as the flavor goes. They are also well constucted. I had about 4 of them the first couple of weeks I had them, but have not had one in a few weeks. They are fine young, so I do not think you have to age them.

Re: Sherpa Torpedo

I'd have to agree with Alped on this one... After the perfunctory month's rest in a humi, it's a damn nice mild smoke for the buck!

Re: Sherpa Torpedo

The barber pole was an ok smoke, pretty mild, slow starter. It's definetly good for the price though and is great for taking out to the bars or the golf course.

Re: Sherpa Torpedo

I like the regular Sherpas, don't care for the dos capas (Mystic). The only barber pole dos capas cigar I have ever enjoyed is called Penguin, but haven's seen or tried them in years.

I have bid on the other Sherpas with the green and gold band (Diablo Series) that only come out once a year, but haven't won any yet.

Re: Sherpa Torpedo

Sherpas are good for a mild smoke.

The Mystic I like, a little tastier perhaps than the regular line, but really not too different. Smoke it in public and you'll get a few comments.
