For my 100th post; A late-night review!

Well... If I'm no mistaken my 100th post will take me from "Young Puffer" to "Maturing Puffer" status. I'll try to make this worthy of the promotion!

An order from Atlantic arrived in frigid Winnipeg for me today and after dinner I opened my kitchen window, set up a fan, put my feet up and enjoyed my first Gran Habano 3 Siglos.

I bought five 6" x 44 (Coronas) on Americo's suggestion and I was extremely happy with it. Americo is one of the 3 brothers at Atlantic and when he learned I routinely smoke the Cuban Cohiba Siglo III he advised me to try them. (Great guys there at AC!)

Nicaraguan all the way (Wrapper, filler & binder) Beautiful in appearance (nice oily wrapper) and quite tasty from the "get go" with a good burn, a spicy flavor and even a hint of strawberry? in the middle. Nice firm ash and only faint acidity. No unravelling, no re-lights req'd, not an overly "hot" smoke.

Went well with a nice Aussie Shiraz-Malbec (and I swear the "twinge" of strawberry was from from the cigar and not the vino)

Unlike it's Cuban namesake it was just a tad harsh in the last 1/4 and where I would smoke the Cohiba to a nub I packed this one is at just under the 2" mark. Perhaps some aging would help it at the end.

For the money ($5US ea) I have to say it was well worth it. Oh, I failed to calculate the cost of all that 25 below weather coming in thru the window... Yowza!

CA had it in their top 25 in '07 and I think gave it an 89 or 90? I would agree with that assesment and we'll see how the other 4 go.

On my first impression I give it an 8 to 8.5 out of 10.

Glad I bought 'em! Tommorow; The Leon Jiminez 300 Robusto!

And that'll do little Donkey... that'll do.

BTW... what's a guy gotta' do around here to increase his ring gauge? And please... no links to any "make your junk bigger websites" LOL!

Nice write up, I gave you a hit on your ring gage, and why wouldn't I?

You and I enjoyed the same cigar last night, in fact I'm getting ready to down load the camara and write my own review.

Nice review. Just read Vinnie's on the same smoke. I did a mini review on this on Jan 2nd and my exact feelings on the last part of this smoke. It just turned on me. But otherwise was a pretty good smoke.
Bump on the rg. Keep em comin'
BTW, I have the exact same ashtray. Where did you get yours?

They are a good cigar. Put some age on them and they become a lot better!
