Bolivar Lonsdale Review

Bolivar Lonsdale
· Wrapper – Dark Natural
· Binder - Connecticut Medio Tiempo
· Filler - Dominican and Nicaraguan filler
· Ring Size - 45
· Length – 6 ½”

Construction: A dark, thick, full-bodied wrapper. Nice and oily. Very firm.

Prelight: Earthy and very peppery.

Burn: Lit evenly. Did not require a re-light.

Draw: Smooth and easy. A nice mouthful of very flavorable smoke with each draw.

Smoking notes: Big and tasty. Nice and smooth. A very nice earthy taste. I am not a fan of strong full bodied cigars but this may have been the one of the best cigars I have smoked and not too strong at all.

Overall Impression: I got this cigar as a freebie from the Cigar Afficianado give away about a month ago. This stick was a new release in August and is advertised as the boldest, most full-bodied cigar in the General Cigar portfolio, but I found it to medium to medium-full. This was my 2nd cigar of the day. The first had been a Casa Torano. I had eaten a spicy Thai dinner before enjoying this cigar in the hot tub. Maybe I had just properly primed my palate for a full bodied cigar and that’s why I enjoyed it so much. It was a very enjoyable 1 hour smoke. Retails at $5.50 at the local tobacco shop.

Did anyone else take advantage of the CA freebie?

I have had these, they are delicious. I remember lighting just the one side and it still burned even all the way down.

Yes, they are/were suppose to be full, but to my palate, medium at best. Good price. I'm trying to warm up to the line, but I'm having trouble.......
