Avo Domaine - Domaine 22 Review
The weather has been warm in KC lately so I've been breaking out some cigars that I've been meaning to try. I also saw the unified rating system thread in the other forum and will try to follow some of those suggestions here. At least folks will be able to see if they like it or not.
Appearance - 5 out of 5 This really is a beautiful cigar. I never smoke perfectos. But this one practically jumped in my hands when I saw it at the shop. Great color and rolled very smoothly. Also had a pretty firm feel. Burn consistency - 4 out of 5 Had a slight initial uneveness because of the shape (I guess) but it actually straightened itself out and burned incredibly easily the rest of the way. It was also about a 40 minute smoke which is just about right for me. Taste - 7 out of 10 This is completely subjective here. I'm a mild to medium guy and this was probably on the more full bodied side of medium. Not so strong that I didn't enjoy it, just a little stronger than I probably would have smoked for the situation. Live and learn on that one. I'm really dinging it mostly because it was a smoke that lingered (which was good) but tended to leave a little bitterness in the back of my mouth. Paired with the right meal prior or the right drink, it would likely rate better for me. Overall Experience 4 out of 5 This may seem a little high. But I really love the looks of a cigar and the feel it has when you are smoking it. This cigar also produce a lot of white billowy smoke to go with a pretty nice aroma. While the taste didn't quite hit me right that day, It's a really good cigar for the right person and time. Total 20 out of 25 Good smoke. A little pricey but I would definitely buy this again and work on smoking it at the right time. |

Good review mildtomedium! This is one of my favorite Avo's, which I unfortunately cannot find any more. There was talk of bringing this back in a limited run.

Re: Avo Domaine - Domaine 22
These are one of my all time favorites and a top example of the fine art of cigar making. Every faucet of this cigar rates highly with me ... shape, burn, smoke volume, strength and taste. If these were still being made I'd have a lifetime supply.

Re: Avo Domaine - Domaine 22
Good review. I've never smoked an AVO cigar. Is the Domaine 22 one of their high end products? What is the price?

Re: Avo Domaine - Domaine 22
I can't remember the exact price I paid. But, I would imagine that it might have been around $9-$10. I think that would put it in the ballpark. Like I said, I tend to grab a handful of different cigars and my total almost always averages out to about that range per stick.
