Had my first one a month ago and loved it. I too had a burn issue but that did not take from the taste of the stogie. When it burns uneven I just turn it a little and it usually starts to burn the other way.

One thing I remember about the cigar is that it smelled like a horse barn.
it might not be as strong as u like, thats a subjective taste IMO but compared to an edge maduro this stick was stronger by a bit. since I got the stick in a bomb Im going to guess it was a series r #5 or #6. it was definatly larger than a #4 I was thinking robusto larga in size. man what a cigar tho WOW .

Im definatly adding these to my must have list

I absolutely love these sticks. I stick with the 5 or 6 usually, but sometimes the pocketbook says ahh.. go for the four. I really enjoy the coffee flavors as well as the way it mellows after the halfway point.

I'm a fam of the LGC in general and it is in fact going to be part of my next box purchase.

Good review.

I am so glad you posted this review, because it encouraged me to try one out at my local store. This cigar was actually unlike any cigar I've had as of yet. It had one particular flavor that I really enjoyed that I haven't found in anything else. I will definitely be getting another later on. Thank you for the awesome review!

Re: LA Gloria Cubana Series R Maduro

Very nice review!
I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one to have had burn problems. I've had a couple of 5's and really enjoyed them. They did need a few touch ups but after a purge it was all good again. I went to pick up a few more at my B&M a couple of weeks ago. The were dry and flakey. His humi (HUGE walk-in)was 80F and 48 RH!! All the nude stick were so dry that I was afraid to get any. I might be able to slowly revive them, but why take the risk. He has got it a little better in there since then, but I'm still going to buy only tubos until I know the problem is fixed.

If you like these then you need to try the wavelle (sp) in maduro. These are priced less and still give you a nice punch with loads of great flavor.

Just my
you convinced me so I bought a 10er of them off cbid. BTW PAY ATTENTION to the numbers as I clicked submit I realised it was a 10 pack I thought I was putting a bud on a full box. so I payed $3 over cigar international price for them..
Im still excited tho to get them in

Re: LA Gloria Cubana Series R Maduro

I find these to be great strong smokes when you just need to get the heart pumping. I've also found that 3-5 months of rest in my humi smoothes the rough edges off and keeping them at 65% RH or a little lower helps with the burn issues. I still smoke somke some young, and love watching someone smoke there first one!!! Course the regular LGC line is decent and ages very well.

LGC Series R maddies are a favorite of mine...next time you start feeling light-headed or nauseous if you don't have a sugared soda, a teaspoon or two of straight sugar will counter-act the nicotine buzz you're getting, but use the sugar the moment you start feeling the buzz...

Re: LA Gloria Cubana Series R Maduro

The LGCR #4/5 are one of my my regular daily go to smokes...I seldomly have had any kind of burn issues at all...Even with the #6's...This cigar has alot of character...I have yet to find another cigar with it's unique flavor...Strong but not too strong, and like someone stated before about half way thru, it softens up in a very appealing way...

It is also a great smoke fresh right out of the box...Aging them does tame them a little but I do not feel that with this cigar it is necessary...

Lots of thick tastey smoke...Tastes great all the way to the nub...

Enjoy.

I was told by a cigar friend that LGC SRMs are died, is this true? Does anyone have any information on this?
