I'm not mad, just worried! I love this cigar and I was hoping that it wasn't died. I tried researching some on the net to find out, but couldn't find anything. The person that informed me had heard the story from our local B&M!

I went to pick up a few more at my B&M a couple of weeks ago. The were dry and flakey. His humi (HUGE walk-in)was 80F and 48 RH!! All the nude stick were so dry that I was afraid to get any. I might be able to slowly revive them, but why take the risk. He has got it a little better in there since then, but I'm still going to buy only tubos until I know the problem is fixed.
This is crazy, cuz I KNOW what B&M your talking about!!! I don't buy there very much either because of this.

65% the cigar sat in my humi for a month or so before I smoked it. regardless of burn I will be buying more of these when I can afford to.

Re: LA Gloria Cubana Series R Maduro

smoked my first one of these (#4) after dinner last night while walking with the spousal unit. This was a great cigar. A little bit of a burn issue, but nothing that detracted from the overall experience. Someone mentioned earlier in the thread that they thought it was a tad stronger than the Edge and I would have to agree. Glad I got more than one.

I've only tried the #4 because the others just seem too big to me. It is a tasty smoke and I enjoy them. Thanks of the tip on the Wavells Do3, I've never tried those.

Re: LA Gloria Cubana Series R Maduro

I pulled a Serie R out of the humi last night, have been looking forward to smoking for some time. Everytime I looked at it I would remember the ad with Ernesto Carillo explaining that he's always enjoyed fuller bodied smokes- hence the large ring gauge of the Serie R. Mine had a natural wrapper, not maduro, and my overall impression is that it is a well dressed piece of garbage. The best part of this cigar, for me, was an even burn. It burned straight and that's about it. No full body, no depth of flavor- just the same burned air over and over for a half hour or so...I still don't know why I finished it- probably out of spite. It wasn't bad tasting or anything...I don't know, just week. After more than a 1/2 inch I could still see straight through to the cherry......this made me wonder, what good is a large ring gauge if you don't fill it? By the sounds of things, the Maduro has a good bit more flavor and punch- I'll certainly try the maduro next time, but I'll be damned if I pay full price. If you can't tell, I'm still disappointed (and bitter) but I'll get over it- going to forget about it with a nice fat Brazilia Lambada later this evening. Sorry about the Rant

Re: LA Gloria Cubana Series R Maduro

I had a LGC-R #5 Maduro last weekend after dinner with a tumbler of Black Velvet on the rocks with a tall glass of ice water back.

This cigar was exceptional! I really enjoyed it. The burn was really quite even. Not as good as some but really ok. The flavor was very good, not at any time harsh.

I'll be adding a box soon!

Re: LA Gloria Cubana Series R Maduro

I also understand your pain or shall I say experiance. I was in VA and lit one up while my family was I the kitchen playing cards and my father was upstairs sleeping. Well about 5 minutes into the smoke my family started coughing and about 30 minutes they got a contact for some reason (lol) my father who smokes cigars (dunhill, ashton) came downstairs and said " Boy what the heck you smoking and give me some of that" well needless to say after 5 hands of 500 and 2 1/2 hrs later the people in the kitchen were all high and hungry LOL so I only somke those when im by myself or had a had day at work, Humm im think I will have one today. Yall take care.

Always traveling to the EAST 357

Re: LA Gloria Cubana Series R Maduro

I smoked one of these on Sunday. They have been one of my favorites since the first one that I smoked. I went to the humi on Sunday not knowing what I wanted, but knowing that I wanted something that I knew what I was going to get out of it.

I grabbed the Serie R #5 maduro for that reason. Whenever I smoke one of these, I always get out of it what I am expecting. It has not let me down yet and I will always have some of these on hand for that reason.
