Hombre De Oro Review
Well, being a newbie, I was anxious to get my humi filled and loaded. Nice to say that most of my supply is good quality right now, RJ, CAO, Monte's, Perdomo's, Upman and Hansotia. I won a cbid auction for 8 mini Hombre De Oro coronas for about $5. Let me tell you, I wish I had my $5 back. The myth of more for less simply does not apply here. I tried my first Oro two weeks ago in my fiancee's car on the way to my sis's house (about a 30 minute drive). Bitter dissapointment (I chucked it about 10 minutes in). Thought Id give it another try tonight at home. I had a nice Perdomo about a week ago, followed by an H Upman camaroon two day ago, then I thought Id give the Oro another try. I only smoke about 1-2 sticks a week due to the cold climate, but I could easily tell the difference. The initial flavor hit me like a shot of Mr Boston Vodka. Not good. The cigar smelled bad even before I lit it. It had no complex flavor at all to it. Tasted like a smooth ash tray (if thats a flavor). On the good side, the burn was ok, but I guess It couldnt really be that bad because this stick has a small ring gauge. Halfway through, it didnt get any better. I ended the punishment at that point and let it sit till it went out. I was almost ready to spark one of my primos to remind myself why I like to smoke stogies. Do yourself a favor, stay away. Save that $5 and put it toward a better box or sampler. Save this one for your friends and co-workers.
