RPV '92 euro Review
It was a lovely day today - upper 60's and sunny - so i decided to do a little studying outside with a cigar. I somewhat recently picked up a 5'er of RPV'92 euros off the Devil Site and figured i'd give one a try.
Lighting this up went very well, no preoblems at all getting it evenly lit and the draw was prety good. Satisfied with it, i rolled on over to a picnick table and pulled my econ book out of my backpack nd started reading and taking a few puffs every minute or so. This went well for the first twenty minutes or so.
Soon i realized though that the wrapper was starting to crack for no apparent reason. I wasn't squeezing the crap out of the cigar or anything, so i couldn't figure out why it might all of a sudden do this. After a while, a good deal of the outer wrapper started to flake off a bit in the mid section of the cigar, which caused a bit of air to leak in when i'd draw on the cigar. I had to draw more frequently just to keep the cigar going and wasn't getting much flavor out of it. When the cigar was about half way finished, the leaks got so bad that i was apparently just drawing mostly air and not much smoke because the cigar went out. I relit the cigar and held me thumb over the leaky spot and this seemedto work well enough.
Not too long after this, the wrapper around the bottom quarter of the cigar started peeling off as well, leading to more leakage and the cigar going out yet again. This time, i just pealed off the flaky, unintact outer wrapper before lighting again, and this somehow cured most of the leak problem I finished off the cigar, finished my reading (three boring chapters of econ), and tossed the cigar.
Despite the leaks, the cigar burned very evenly and - when i could taste it - had a pretty good flavor, particularely towards the end. It was a very mind cigar, as expected. If there hadn't been so many leakage problems, it probably would have been a pretty good, easy-going smoke.
Any ideas on the cause of the wrapper falling appart and the leaks? The cigar didn't appear to be too dry and my humi has stayed at no less than 63% humidity for the past few weeks.
