Graycliff purple label Review
okay,
so i made it to corona cigar in orlando last night. Went out with a couple of sales guys from my company and had a great dinner. talked them into going to corona for a cigar. I was treated to a cigar by one of the reps and he asked the corona cigar folks "give my friend your best cigar". They suggested the purple label. at first it looks "okay", not fantastic and oily but somewhat dull but nicely constructed. the end wasn't cut so it had the fillers sticking out. It smelled vaguely like a horse saddle (kind of cuban in a way, like a cuaba sometimes smells). the draw was excellent but the flavour wasn't very full. As the filler burned out and i got to taste the blend of the wrapper with the filler the cigar became much more full bodied and much richer. Wonderful smoke and excellent ash. at the last third it became even fuller and richer in flavor. The smoke grew and really tasted quite like an isom to me. i rate this cigar highly. However, given the price it was going at, i much rather buy a box of cohibas instead of this stick. It was good but price wise too rich. at corona they charged $25 per stick, and about $500 for a box. At that price i can get PSD4's much cheaper and i think they are better. anyway, i really enjoyed the experience and i would recommend anyone to try this one at least once. I liked it better than the opus X which goes for even more money at some places.

Re: Graycliff purple label
Nice review! I Picked up a 5-pack of the Pirate (torpedo) Gran Cru from the Devil and smoked the first one last week. It was outstanding - great draw, perfect burn and a wonderful taste. Not a lot of complexity - but it didn't need it. OTOH, I'd certainly take the PSD4 over the one I had. With shipping about $13 a piece. Won't do it again, but no regrets.

Re: Graycliff purple label
I'd love to spend a weekend at Graycliff... But would expect a complimentary "fiver."
Some brand names are built on "exclusivity." Some are built on quality. Still others are built on a "damn fine smoke." I prefer the latter. __________________________________________________ ____________ "What's that smell?" "What smell, sweetheart?" "Smells like you tracked in some dog poop!"
