CAO VISION REVIEW ..... via Cycle

I have to add a disclaimer first! I have been waiting as long as many of you for this cigar. I LUV the corojo leaf.... and I totally enjoy the marketing they put into the video and the box-humidor. I did smoke 2 of the robusto's from 6 months ago that they passed out in Vegas. I have "heard" that they changed the blend a little in that time frame.

I smoked 5 of these in the last 2 weeks so I could really get a good feel for the stick (yes SHE said that! haha).

The FIRST one I smoked from my box was the first smoke I had in about a week. IT WAS OUTSTANDING! It started off with a sweetness to it that blended into a spiciness. I was amazed! It traveled a little, but had a nice draw. I was disappointed that it seemed to get a little soft about halfway through (NO... SHE never said that to ME!) hahaha. I really don't like a cigar that gets mushy or soft.... and this one didn't get mushy, but a tad soft, but that sweetness had me smiling.

The SECOND one..... had no sweetness to it. I had been smoking more to maybe my buds just not as sensitive. Still a near perfect draw. The spiciness was a little bolder with this smoke. It really reminded me of an Opus. Only I didn't have to re-light it like I seem to do with many Opus X.

The THIRD, FORTH, and FIFTH (5th tonight)....... still had that similar Opus Flavor, a slight spice, about half way through they seem to get a little soft, but nothing dramatic, yet still a little more than I like. The ash was amazing on one of these three and I did post a photo on here. Tonight it really reminded me of some of the ISOM..... no lie. The ashes are a little more flaky and not roll really as tight as many of the Nicaraguan's I enjoy. Flavor was delish. And this last one tonight had that ISOM Siglo IV feel to it with the wrapper and burn and ash and draw.

This cigar does now fall in my top 10.... but not top five. I love the draw (one was a little airy)...... the band looks very unique and a bit classier in person than in photos. The humidor is very cool, IMHO. I will use this when I travel as the light and the carrying case is pretty darn nice. I would smoke this over an Opus X and I do enjoy them, also.

A-

Cycle

A shot from last week....

I almost bought a box today, but they wanted $240 for a box of robustos which is pretty much the single stick cost times 20. Plus no freebies.

I still bought 2 sticks and I will try em tomorrow.

I had a Vision for Lunch today. Wow..I like this one. Looking over your Review, C-man, I'd second it. Not that you need validation from other men...and not that that's a bad thing....Oh never mind..

Tasty medium body smoke...holding off filling my humidor cause of CigarFest, but I think I might just have to go out and get a couple of these guys...

I had a CAO Vision, courtesy of Da'Cycle, on Saturday evening. It was a very good cigar. I thought it was a full bodied cigar. Lots of great tasting smoke. Easy draw. A bit of an unraveling problem but nothing a "lick and stick" didnt cure. A very flakey ash that was kind of messy. Little bits of ash all over my clothes.

Overall - B

Just read Cycle's review...

I agree with some of it but not all of it. Again I am smokin this over a year later and maybe they have changed things a bit.

One of the biggest differences is the ash. Im smoking my second one as I type this. The ash is very solid. On both I smoked. There were times where I went to ash and it was difficult due to the ash being so stiff.

Both burns have been flawless and the wrapper seems to be prett firm. Much firmer than most of the smokes I've enjoyed.

Flavorwise it starts out like a Royal Silk Corojo but the flavor seems to change alot. The one last night got very chocolately.. like milk chocolate and not a bitter dark chocolate. But the smoke is consistently sweet. I love these... Probably will pick up a 2nd box or maybe I will ask the gf to get me a box for my bday. She keeps asking what cigar she wants to get me a box of.

Solid A.. I used to think the Camacho Corojo Limited was my fav corojo.. this definately rivals it.. But the Camacho is more earthy/leathery with an undertone of sweetness and this is sweet with coffee/chocolate tones more like a Graycliff Double Espresso

I may need to cave in and give these a whirl....I've been waiting to see if how they were a year or two after the intial release (I rarely trust "first editions)......sounds tasty.

Those guys look/sound delicious. But they are so dang pricey! The one place ive found over here that carries them has the box kept at 55% humidity. So needless to say they look like complete s

I will have to grab a pic sometime.
