MAYORGA TORO Review

Killing time at lunch and decided to try the $3 stick. I occasionally buy cheaper sticks simply trying something different. Well, different was a relative term in regards to this cigar.

In "Tank" terms, I rate this cigar 1 "turret" on a scale of 1 to 5.

Draw - very tight, like I needed a poker. Standard cut and punch proved "drawless"

Taste - Very full bodied, almost harsh at times, off and on.

Burn - very uneven burn, had to repair the burn quite a few times. Possibly related to the hard draw? Maybe....

For $3, I'll probably try another, but first impression tells me to stay away from this cigar.

tank...the burn and draw sound almost like it was a bit over humidified...as for the taste...well, a dog rocket is a dog rocket, there ain't much you can do about that...

Thanks RAM, being a "noob", I never considered that and thanks for the tip. Like I said, I will try another one. I did take this one right from the walk in humidor and lit her up within 15 minutes. They didn't have cellophane on them, so I could see where they could be over humidified. I may buy another and let it sit in my humi for a few days.

There are several cigars, like the El Mejor Espresso that need to dry boxed for that very reason. When they are straight out of the hummie the tend to carry their moisture longer...

Very interesting post. When I lived in Tempe I gave up cigars because the humidity is so low that when you took a cigar outside to smoke it would dry out within a few minutes. I "littered" more than 1 golf course with half smoked stogies. Funny how 110 degrees and 10% humidity will do that.
