2004 Vegas Robaina Famosos Review

2004 Vegas Robaina Famosos 48 X 5

Storage: 63 – 67 RH at 60 – 68 F.

Construction: Satin dark tan wrapper with a few large veins and “frogs eyes”. Solidly rolled with no soft spots.

Prelight: Toasty, rich tobacco and medium-firm draw.

Burn: Lit evenly, straight burn with no touch-ups, solid but lightly flaky charcoal-grey ash.

Drink: Zaya 12 yr old rum with a frappucino chaser (try it, damn good).

Smoking Notes: Initial impression is wood, toasty tobacco and sweet spices along with some leather and cocao. The smoke is thick and buttery and the aroma is woody, spicy and floral. By the 1/3 warm-up point, the cigar is pumping out incredible vanilla, cocoa, leather and sweet spice notes arrround a core of rich red-clay earthy tobacco. By 2/3, the smoke has shifted to heavy tobacco, leather and earth notes. Never became bitter or tarry as I smoked it to the nub and. An excellent 1 hour plus smoke.

Overall Impression: A medium-full smoke, VR Famosos don’t get enuf press. I rate these a solid A.
