Puros Indios Special-Aged Piramides Maduro Review

PREFACE:
I'm not real big on the figurados, having experienced some burn issues with some of them. This one, with a 64 RG at the foot, was suspect. I was expecting a finicky stick that wouldn't be much different from others in the PI line. I was wrong!

CONSTRUCTION / BURN
Appearance is a bit on the rough side, but construction is actually quite good. It's just a bit on the loose side, but draw was very good. Only two corrections required, and I took her down to about 1-1/2 ".

BODY / FLAVOR
Body was on the Southern end of medium, but flavor was remarkable! The ad copy claims that these sticks stand above and apart from others in the PI line because they were rolled in '98, and left to mellow. By gosh, they were right! There's no "edge" at all to the toasty-nutty flavor. It did burn a bit hot toward the head (as expected), but the flavor remained true.

OVERALL:
I love to be pleasantly surprised by a cigar, and this one did just that! It's priced a bit higher than others in the line, but not simply for its "shape." The flavor (IMHO) is superb, and I will definitely try to lure more of them into my humi!

smoked one last night.you can find them for a bargin on C-bid.i like the maddie more but the nattie is just as good.

Great review!!! I have tried these too. They are a very good bargain on C-Bid. THough I did find them to be a little soft in the construction in the mouth. I find that with all Rolando Reyes Pyramides though. Your flavor notes are right on. They are a little mellower than the regular PI blends and are a nice change of pace.
