Quickie Java Review

Cigar: Java Maduro by Drew Estate
Drink: Lemonade
Color: Dark
Roll: Firm
Draw: Pretty tight (not sure if this is right description, it was tough to pull air through pre-light)
Smell/Aroma: I think it smelled like Chocolate/Mocha, wife thought raisins, step-child's father thought chocolate. He doesn't smoke cigars, but tried one out tonight!

I ended up smoking this cigar tonight while playing games with my wife and one of my step-children's father. I ended up having to bite off the end on this one. It was too thick for either of my cutters and I don't have a punch cutter yet. Looks like I will be getting one soon, since this is the first one I have needed one for.

This cigar produced a lot of white, full smoke. I like that in a cigar. I actually got a ring (have been trying to, but it is hit and miss right now). The smoke definitely smells like chocolate the whole time. I thought it tasted the same throughout the cigar. Since I don't have a great palate I may have missed some subtle changes. It started off Chocolatey with a hint of hot chocolate every once in a whlie. It also had a little spice to it. Not sure how I would classify the spice, maybe a little peppery, but it was nice. The ash was greyish with a little black throughout. I ashed about 1.5" in. The burn was pretty regular, until the last bit. It started to go and didn't recover very well, but in my onpinion didn't ruin the cigar. Once I lit up the cigar the draw was pretty good, maybe a medium draw. Not loose and not too tight.

I thought this was a very interesting cigar. I was scared of it at first due to it's powerful aroma before lighting it up, but I was surprised at how good it tasted. I don't like coffee at all and didn't really notice any coffee in it. I will have this cigar again, but it won't be a day to day smoke. I would recommend this cigar with a non-chocolate dessert that could use chocolate. I'm thinking maybe like a cheescake without a topping, using the cigar taste to give it the chocolate kick. Wife definitely approved of this cigar and will most likely buy another in the future.

Great review! As for the cigar, it does have a unique aroma, doesn't it?

It does have a very unique aroma. The taste of the tobacco is very unique as well. It tasted like I was biting into chocolate when I bit the tip off. Very good, but very unique.

I would be honored to be added to the list of reviewers. Just let me know what I need to do.

Great review! I also enjoyed the unique taste of the Java, but, I love coffee and did pick up a lot of espresso flavor with mine. Question for you though, when I had the last one, it gave me a huge nicotine buzz to where I had to put it down for 10 mins or so. Did you notice this strength also or was it just my stick or empty stomach? Still liked it enough to get another one, just wondering.

I did not have a nicotine buzz on this stick. For some reason I don't get one very easily though. I don't remember the last stick that gave me one. I am pretty new to cigars and never smoked cigarettes. Not sure where my tolerance came from, but I thought it was a pretty strong cigar. I don't really know what an espresso tastes like, so that may have been present and I may have missed it.
