CI Legends Purple Label Review

Cigar: CI Legends Purple Label

Construction: A very attractive maduro rapper, slightly veined with some tooth. (The wrapper was pretty dark so I assumed it was a maddy).

Pre-light Aroma: A mix of Coffee and cedar.

Burn: I had to touch up the burn twice, but may have been my fault because I set it down a few times while I was typing on the computer. Straight cut and the draw was easy.

Smoking Notes: This cigar started out with a smooth coffee taste and a slight hint of spiciness. At the 1/3 point the spicy notes started to pick-up. Halfway through it remained spicy but the hints of coffee were gone. Woody notes took the place of the coffee. The cigar remained very smooth throughout and had a sweet after taste. The draw was perfect but I did have to touch it up a couple of times.

Overall: I really enjoyed this smoke. It didn’t have many twists and turns but was fun none-the-less. The touch ups did take some away from this cigar but it may have been my fault. It was a very smooth, creamy smoke. I will definitely try this one again. I would give it a B.

I am still new so my experience is limited but I did enjoy this smoke. Not my favorite but very good.

Nice review. I will add it to my "to try" list. I like spicy cigars.

Excellent review. You may want to try purging the cigar once or twice. Maybe more if it is a big cigar. You didnt mention the size of the one you smoked. Purging can help restore the starting flavors most times.

It was a 54ring. How do you purge? Blow through it? Thanks for the tip.

You purge a cigar by gentlely blowing back through the cigar. It will "push" trapped smoke back out and freshen up the taste. You may want to purge if the taste is changing or getting bitter. Some cigars need it often and others just once or twice. I find that purging works great on longer cigars.

Nice review. I've been looking at the legend series and was wondering how well they smoked. Looks like I may need to pick up a few differant blends.

I had one of these back in October/November. I enjoyed this cigar and will probably get some more once I have room in my Humidor. My wife has filled it to the brim with cigars. I will post a pick of her latest purchases for me in a different thread once I download the pics.
