Trinidad TTT Review

Ok, here is my first serious attempt at a cigar review. I am using Kevin's criteria for rating.
CIGAR: TTT Trinidad, Robusto (50 x 5). It retails for $42.50, but prices at discount stores are around $25-$30.
FILLER: blend of NIC/DR/PERU long filler
BINDER: CT broadleaf
WRAPPER: Ecuadorian Sumatra
CONSTRUCTION: the construction of this cigar was flawless. It compressed easily between the fingers and rebounded into shape. There were no cracks or unravels, even down to the last puff.
PRELIGHT: the aroma of the wrapper was definitely in the chocolate range. The prelight draw was also chocolate, with a little nugmeg flavor. Very pleasant. Not overly sweet or bitter.
BURN/DRAW: the draw was perfect all the way through. No tight spots. the burn was even at first, then a little uneven at the 1/4 point. After a couple of purges, the burn was mostly corrected by the 1/3 point, and even thereafter. The cigar did not go out on its own once during the smoke.
DRINK: Apple cider with seltzer, over ice, garnished with a mint leaf from the garden.
SMOKING NOTES: upon lighting the cigar, the flavor was smooth and full of chocolate and nutmeg flavor. Not strong at all, but very flavorful. It was like a coating of sweet cream on my tongue. I like to hold the smoke in my mouth, rolling it around with my tongue, then blow it out the sides of my mouth where all the taste buds are to get the full flavor. At the 1/4 mark, I could taste the flavor begin to intensify slightly, with more tobacco resin flavor mixing with the choco/nutmeg. It was consistently like this down to the 1/2 to 2/3 point. After the 2/3 mark, the cigar lost most of its choco/nugmeg flavor, and took on a predominantly tobacco taste, with a slight bitterness, not unpleasant.
OVERALL: One of the few cigars I could smoke with pleasure down to the nubbin. I have a bad habit, because I'm a cheap bastard and want to get the most out of my cigar, to smoke most cigars past the point of pleasure. In this case, I went down to finger-burning length, and still was able to fully enjoy the cigar.
RATING: A solid "A". According to Kevin's criteria, an A is an incredible cigar, among the best ever tasted, with a complex mix of flavors. The "A+" rating I reserve for the best 2 or 3 cigars ever. The cigar did not have any issues that would drop it to an "A-" so I think an A is the correct rating.
I welcome any comments on anyone else who has smoked the TTT Trinidad.

By the way, the retail price is for a 5-pack, shipped in a nice tin flip-up case.

Nice review. I have seen these & been tempted, but never actually pulled the trigger. Your review has made me think I need to man up & try them, though.

Mike, could it be in part due to the band being not so flashy (at least in my opinion)? That, and I just don't see them marketed all that much really. I've yet to try one, but will keep an eye open for them now after having read this.

Great review !

Trini, is a awesome smoke one of my top 5 smokes ever.

If you haven't tried one, your just missing out on a great cigar.

Prefer the maduro over the nat, but, the 100 anni Trinidad, is a AWESOME smoke in nat.

Re: Trinidad TTT

I had wondered about these. I saw some in a B&M, and I bypassed them for something else because I wasn't sure.
