Cuesta-Rey Vintage Centro Fino Review
Cuesta-Rey Vintage Centro Fino (6" x 50)
Wrapper: Sumatra-seed sungrown Binder: Unknown Filler: Dominican Ligero (aged five years) Presentation: Pretty milk-chocolate brown wrapper. Picked from the "Centro Fino" (fine center) part of the tobacco plant. Handmade by Tabacalera Arturo Fuente in the Dominican Republic (I might have known). To my eye, visually epitomizes the tradition of fine cigars. Pretty girl with flowers in her hair, palm leaves. Classy red label. "Centro-Fino Sungrown". Part of my Power of Ten Sampler from Thompson, so this sample cost me $1.95. Flavor: Subtle and sweet. I'm not going to insult all of you guys intelligence by waxing lyrically about all kinds of complexity and flavors that aren't there. Just subtle, sweet-smoking tobacco with traces of cedar. Reminds me alot of the Black Pearl I smoked the other night. In the same vein. Simple. Uncomplicated. Pure tobacco smoking pleasure. Smokability: Superb. Smooth, easy draw. Perfect, even burn. Rich and rewarding smoking without the lingering "dirty ashtray" finish. I think I've finally found a cigar I can buy a box of with confidence. This just might be my "daily smoker". Overall: Excellent. A.

That IS an extremely cool deal. Thus far, the Cuesta-Rey Centro Fino has been one of my favorite mild smokes. I'd LOVE to get a shirt and a sampler pack. I hope the XXL fits me though. My Ma raised some BIG boys. But I sure am glad that I, the cigar nooby, adores a cigar that the more experienced cigar smokers adore.
